file divorce papers with child support enforcement in Jax fl. part of dept of children and families services. not sure why X wont pay court ordered medical & school for his only child. is he just mean, dont care about his child, or OW is helping him make decisions. In the state of Fl. non payments can be reported to credit report. X owes almost $1000.00 they can take it out of income taxes after it goes over $500. Had to file because Im asking the state to help me. Cant work because of illness, used my savings, annuity to live on since may 2001, they are all gone. money X gave us didnt pay the food or medical for me or my son. all money from sale of our old home had to be put down for another one. Son computer died, told him he will have to use other one dad left. Legal aide is helping but it takes time. Jan. 9th was the deadline for X attorney to have his brief in for Al appeal. My attorney hasnt contacted me about what X is asking for. She said she would only call if it was something different than before. God has blessed me many times during the Divorce. not angry at X just dont understand why he did the things to me or our son. Only God knows the truth, Im not sure if God could get the truth out of X. Oneday X will have to answer to God and explain why he broke up 2 family to have another man wife. son kissed me on the cheek today, ask him what was that for. He just said he loved me. X may have the money & new life but I wouldnt change my life with my son for anything. We are happy together, as soon as the appeal is over we can put the past behind us. X & his family members have choosen not to have our son in their lives. Son wouldnt accept OW into the family. If anyone has used this agency please let me know if they did any good. X lives in fl but works for state of al in mobile al. as a parole officer.

Hi MF,

I used my local county to collect my CS, to me it is the only way to go. I don't know about your county, it took about 2-4 months from the time I filled out the paperwork to the time I saw my first check. Is that what you are wondering?

thanks, you answered my question. Knew it would take time, but really needed to know that these agencies do work.

X thinks because he works for the state of AL he gets special treatment. So far he has. When you have the governor of AL. who only hires friends of friends you cant rely on the court system to be honest. My family is now in a safe state where I believe they take care of deadbeat dads no matter who they are or where they work.

I don't know what the issues are when crossing state lines, but I think some federal aide is baseed upon how aggressive the state is in collecting child support. (Could be wrong)

Well, at least I know not to move to Al. I didn't have any problems, both of us are in MN.

He has to file tax returns, if you have the county go after your child support, and if the his employer is uncooperative, they will send a notice to the IRS, and you will get any tax refunds he is entitled to. So, go to your county agency that handles this and get it started.

florida goes after deadbeat spouses. I did learn that when our appeal is over & can claim fl as home, Im past the time limit. Which sounds stupid since I lived here 44 yrs & less than 5 in al. state of Fl. can make X pay court cost & my lawyer fee. It would have been cheaper for him just to pay what he owes. X will also have to get a fl. lawyer, thats at another $1000.

Its only right he do his role in financial support, all fathers should. My Dv was in FL in May 2002, I recieve an CS order to pay in which I do and was prior, but I remember just a few months ago my employer delayed a CS payment due to a new payroll process they were trying and FL CS people called my employer with threats and my employer came to me and said I'm sorry but I think you need to be prepared to go to jail and said I think they may be sending a sherriff, the CS was only 1 1/2 weeks late but exw was pushing them. So FL is very quick to respond, they will get him quick because FL loves to tie people up in the legal system and since they don't have ST taxes that's how they make a lot of there money, that's why they herd people through it like cattle....SO they will get his attn
