Is there a formula to figure ALIMONY??? No children involved...30 yr marriage. Or is it strictly judges decision? Live in Mich.

It will depend on if your wife has worked, what is her health. is she able to work. what type of life style can she have after D. compare to what she had with you. In escambia county al they only give it if you can prove A. Which my attorney did. If not you had to be a 30 yrs career homemaker with no work outside the home.

I am divorcing, and have been married to my husband for 25 years. Also, I have been a stay at home mother. Also, I worked at the business we have with no paycheck. There is alimony for the years you two have had. Ask your lawyer, and he will tell you the formula. Good Luck.

I should have mentioned that she is currently working full time with benefits. Making about $30K/yr. My income is $85K/yr. We both had A's but she had last one and might still be going on. Health is good except for upcoming knee replacement which will IMPROVE work ability. My attorney said I would have to pay some alimony but not lifetime, but the amount will determine if I can keep home or not. If we split 50/50 she will get over $125k. WHEW!!!
