I don't know the divorce laws, but I heard if a guy files for divorce, his wife will automatically guaranteed to get at least half of everything. Is it true ? What if it's the wife who committed A or if she's the one wanted to split, will she still get half ?

People told me "you will lose EVERYTHING if you divorce". why is man so unfortunate ? it's not fair, is it ?

It depends on which state you are in as each one is different.

In the state where I live they have this "equal distribution" which means the BS is not compensated for the actions of the WH, it has no bearing whether man or woman.

When I went to an attorney, he showed me what I would get if I divorced right now and it is much less than I have now. The attorney asked what I thought and I told him it stunk.

It doesn't matter if you're the man or the woman... it's basically going to be split 50/50. Children and Difference in Income are the two biggest things that move that 50/50 split.

And, btw, it doesn't matter if you're the BS or the WS... the one filing or the one being served. Negotiation and good lawyers and lots of bucks can move things around too. You're better off to just walk in assuming you'll have to give up half.

The only time this doesn't apply is if you have absolutely no assets... or the assets you have are all junk... you're wallowing in debt... etc. and both make about the same amount of money with no kids.

It also depends on if the other spouse shows up for the divorce.

I live in California. Do you know how Californian divorce laws work? anything special that I should watch out?

btw, which state has the least painful divorce proceedings ? can I get divorce in another state ? (like people can get married in Vegas even though they don't live there)

actually, I can't imagine what life would become during and after divorce. I think I'd rather die than doing through it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />

It's not always a 50/50 split here in georgia.

My ex wife filed and wanted everything. I faught it and went to court and wound up with it all. the cars and the house, everything.

Oh I did give her the living roon suit and curtins. But thats all.

One thing WE did split 50/50 was the credit card debt, and the property tax's for the 2 years she was gone.
