Weird stuff happening again! Yesterday about noon I hear honking and looked out the window as someone has honked off and on the past week or so. It turns out it is the neighbor across the street (my ex's buddy). He looks over towards my house and waves and says Hi, B***h.

I ask my daughter if she knows anything about this, she said he'd been doing it for a while she thought I knew so she didn't say anything. Later that night my ex shows up and they all start howling. I ignore it and when my friends left my house, shut and locked the doors. Well neighbor comes out of his house and starts yelling my name and making a total a$$ out of himself (about 10:30 pm now). Daughter wants me to call the cops, but they wouldn't do anything. Ex leaves about midnight and they start howling again, made the dog bark then they started barking back at the dogs. I still didn't do anything.

Today, I found out that they egged my new truck! As far as I am concerned they just declared war. I WILL NOT be harrassed in this manner and I am done standing aside while they keep on doing stuff like this. I think there is a point when the "high road" gets a bit too undermined and one needs to dig under for a bit.

Well, they certainly are mature, aren't they? They sound like a bunch of retarded 13 yr olds in my book.

I would have called the cops. It's definitely disturbing the peace and perhaps even stalking. At the very least, a visit from the police will probably sober the nut up a bit.

Do you own your home? If not, I would probably be looking to move. I hate running away but it's really not worth the hassle to argue with an idiot. I'd just wash my truck...boy, I bet that made you mad. It would me. I love my truck!! Perhaps there is some type of restraining order for this situation.

Sorry you live next to a jerk.

Oh what abusive weak cowards. Definately, the warfare is on. You are being harrased by a bunch of bullies your hubby is one of them. Big time as my STBX recruited all kinds of his friends to do things to psyche me out. Bully operation of pyschological headgames.

Sounds like they want to bait you in to play their dark games.

I had harrassing phone calls, screws left under my tires, bullies from his work showing up in front of my house. Where I stood in front of my window with my arms crossed stared them back confidant standoff fashion.

I will not stand for intimidation or nonscences, until they drove away like jackels.

Escalation, his using ideas/support criminal minded friends from the bar to get ideas to do other insidious unspeakable things which are to disturbing to write here on the forum.

If I could replay some of the situations back and do things differently as opposed trying to handle so much on my own- gained a shorter leash.

I would have taken a different approach to the bullying/intimadation as I know I have lot more work to do in developing strategies not to tolerate/allow situations to go to far.

As I am in the processing of dealing with my 21 year old son's bullying of me now, or taking off where his dad left off.

My two cents worth: I would have documented comments date, time and log it on calender.

Next call the police asap. Oh the police won't do a thing? Well that says alot doesn't it? Perhaps several things about their lack of involvement?

Maybe their characters are similar towards thier own families or they are too overburneded/stress out which seems to be often the case. However, the issue does needs to be resovled.

Well in that case I am of the opinion and suggest next time neighbor does this, do by all means call the police.

As a measure and deliver a message that the bully. Should the nothing be done. Suggest you get the officers names, and ask for a copy of your report. Get their business cards. Holds everyone accountable.

Next nothing being done the "apathy thing", find out who the cops superiors are. Calmly politely send the matter higher up and ask for their advice/intervention? Politely suggest. What can you do?

The violence from your neighbors seems to be escalating, you are ignoring the neighbor, concerned..... What can the Chief suggest bring him on board also helps to KEEP THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFFER:

I think this is where we can become so discouraged give up and the neighbors behavior will only escalate.

Do you have a cam corder, tape recorder?

Wondering if you are person who is religious/or have a spiritual beliefs system?

If you do I wonder if you could arrange to have prayer/study evening at your house. Might be wonderfully comforting to call in more reinforcements.

Keep the front blinds open and of course include your husband/neighbors to be prayed for. Maybe if you go to church might be nice if people dropped your neighbors mail box an inviation to a church out reach function, perhaps some literature on anger mangement outreach to....

Prayer group in your home would certainly provide blessings, strength and source of protection/calm security for your children to draw strength on comfort. A win/win blessing time of emotional needs to be met during this terrible time during divorce.

Think neighbor might get a pleasant wake call to know that the neighborhood has a zero tolerance for bully. Who knows the "boys" might decide to get the proper "attention" they need in a more positive fashion to grow up and get the help they so desperately need.

The police factor might offer the lack of male attention/energy they need. As the boys have learned to disrespect all women.

Hold your head up high....

My prayers for you and your family....

Let's stand firm as there is safety in numbers.

What idiots. I am so sorry you and the kids had to see that behavior. I also believe the next time this happens, call the police. And if personal property is damaged again, call the police. Write a report. Especially if there is damage to your truck.

They love to do these kinds of things. Why is it that they just don't get it with life. They hate us for just wanting to get on with life and live somewhat decently. It's not enough is it though?

And as far as barking like the dog, I think it is appropriate for them. After all some men are dogs. Guess we found out who they were, oh and my stbxh too.

Harassment charges can ensue if the neighbor keeps calling you names publicly. Your house is your house. Your yard your yard. You and the kids deserve some well needed peace.

I love you guys and am so sorry this happened.

Thanks you all! I guess I should explain something about my house. The only front yard openings are the front door and master bedroom bath. My doors were shut when the honking happened, I went in to my bathroom and looked out the mirror. There is no way neighbor could have seen me, so he is just spouting off in my general direction. If he's been honking like that for a wekk or so, wonder how many other times he's done stuff towards my house that I don't even know about?

He is weird, almost started a fight with my brother, when friends are over and I walk them to their cars and he howls out the window at us. He is a black belt and a weapons collector and I think his lack of control is truly amazing, and dangerous.

My ex, he is slowly alienating even the people that used to think he was smart in his field of work. He actually had the audacity to go to a board meeting on his Harley (most likely revving it as loud as it could go so that everyone was sure to look at him)... the word back from the field (I am also in that type of work) is that he is even more of a pompous a$$ than ever before.

I kind of laugh now, because he had me believing that the only reason people spoke to me is because I was married to him. Yet, I still have a circle of friends, have grown my business almost 200% and it is still growing, my kids are doing well (even though one is in residential therapy because of him, she IS getting the help she needed), and I am learning to handle all of the BS that he throws in my direction.

Now, as far as the egg. FYI, in case it is ever needed, take a sponge and soak it in hot water, let it sit on the egg for a bit and then it will come off. I will still need to do some rubbing compound work, but no more damage by letting it sit. I will go to the cops on Monday and make a report there at the station. There is still a mark where the egg splattered and it should be enough. I just don't want the cops here again at the house, been here too many times.

All was dead quiet last night, so figure they had hangovers. The bad thing, the neighbors right next to this idiot neighbor didn't hear anything that night. Whether that is true or they just don't want to be involved because they know what a jerk this other guy is I will never know. They are the ones who told me about soaking the egg off with hot water... I asked them because they have always kept their autos in pristine condition, and restore old cars. Had a mustang that was AWESOME.

Oh well, life goes on. Wacky neighbors and exes will get theirs one of these days.

Lori,

I agree, when they start these things...call the police--report it..

You can also press Harassment charges against them..although, one thing that will probably be suggested..is if you can afford to move..then move..

I remember one of the few times I've watched those court TV shows, they had something like this
where neighbors kept harrassing a family..

the neighbors lost..and had to pay the family money..and If you know any of your other neighbors talk to them..maybe they hear it too
and can back you in court..and who knows they may
stand up to these jerks..

You've always been here with great advice! Unfortunately, I can't move. I spent everything I had trying to keep the house over the kids' head. It was our stability and our refuge. In this day and age in my area of CA, I couldn't afford an apartment much less a house anywhere.

My dad is coming out to stay for a bit, and having those out of state plates here may tone some of the garbage down. You know, the image ex and neighbor try and portray of them being the sane ones.

This will straighten itself out and I will keep law enforcement aware of what is going on. I haven't talked to the neighbors on the other side of jerk, I think they are not too happy with them overall, so they may have heard something.

On another subject, my dad just met the new assistant reverend at the local church and he talked to him about being molested as a child and that he had buried the memory so deeply that it finally surfaced in his 30's. He is now very active in setting up websites and contacts for kids to get help. My dad was shocked that it is as common as the guy mentioned. This is a sad world!!! I'll try and get the website and stuff and email you later.

Lori,

Do you have a video camera? Borrow one or buy one, then get them on tape harrassing you. That is your best proof.

Take care,

Hi Anna,

Yes, I have a video camera and I was even talked into picking up a small surveillance camera that will go to a VCR a few months back. Ha, Harbor Frieght tools had one for $30... I just never installed it. I'll get it installed and will tape the next go round. I'm sure there will be a next go-round as these people are vindictive people who delight in causing as much turmoil as they can.

I read Anna's response and thought...YES..

I could see there faces as you go to court and them standing there saying..."We didn't DO THAT"

And the judge asking if you have 'proof' it was actually them and not someone else..and you say

"well, yes your honor I do--you see I wasn't sure who exactly was doing this stuff before..so in order to find out, I had this surveillance system installed last month"

Neighbors-- <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> WHAT???
