just looking for some input folks. i've set my house and property as a boundry now. do i have the right to keep her off of here? she is 1/2 owner but is the 1 who moved out. decided i just need the space as well as protection. after last weekend counselor told me not to see her without 3rd party present. she said if she came to my house and argument insued i would be the 1 being hauled away if police were called. me being the male she said was'nt to my advantage in that situation. any thoughts on this? thanks

You need to check the laws in your state. They vary. Are you getting a lawyer, it sound very serious. If she moved out I think the legality of it depends on what actually is going on. You couldnt get "hauled away" unless you participated in some abuse somehow. But sounds like you need help, professionally, good luck!

My H left but still used the home for business. One day he moved out all the business stuff so I changed the locks. His lawyer sent a letter conceding that I had sole occupancy of the home. Get a lawyer to write such a letter for you.
Did you change the locks yet? If she's not living there, you can.
But, the local police said that since H still owns our house (and runs his business from the property) even though I have a letter, it means nothing. If he came by with a moving truck and hauled everything away, there would be nothing they could do about it. (This actually happened down the street before I moved in, so the police now know what they can and can't do).
Just my 2 cents.

my understanding where i live is that if the police are called 1 of the 2 persons will be taken away by law. as for locks yes i've changed them. also have decided to give up the dog. no more joint custody. the less we see each other at this point the better. i can always get another pooch later. i have ask the church about appointing a mediator when we do need to talk so as to hopefully calm things if necessary
