Hi .. I have been lurking here for the past 2 years or so. Went thru a couple seperations(last 2 years on and off), and now divorced(6 months). My question is simple:

When will I get over my Ex's beauty? We are both attractive people, but for the life of me ...she is still the most beatifull person to me ...physically. Skin, hair, smell, body, eyes, etc. the whole package is perfect.

I know this may seem shallow of me, and I do feel guilty holding on to this.

help?

That is a difficult one... For me, the last thing I try and do when I went through my divorce and now in the situation I am currently in, is think about the physical part of the other person (and/or being physical with that person) cause I know it would just drive me crazy... Not being with them is bad enough, to start thinking about the physical stuff, you are just going to make your process that much harder...

But are you just "focusing" on the physical nature of your X?? Maybe you still have a lot of feelings for her deep inside, but the way those feelings are coming out is through your thinking about her appearence???

We all handle "loss" differently... Maybe this is just how you are holding on to her?

Are you kidding? Of course that's not shallow! You love her and admire her! Of course you are going to miss her and that includes her beauty.

I'm dealing with the same thing. My divorce was finalized a couple of months ago. No infidelity, just not seeing things the same way. She still says she loves me and that I'm her soulmate.

But soon I know the dogs will find her, and she will be snatched up by some guy. She is very beautiful to me, too.

But you know what, brother? Make yourself the best you can be--work out, be a kind person, maybe help out, like, if you can. And then your beauty will match hers.
