My drivers license has been suspended!!

This has never happened before. I am a good girl!

So what happened?

It started in April with a speeding ticket. 60 in a 55. Well, that's what it was written for anyway. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I didn't try to fight it. I called the number on the front like the officer said, and found out how much to send in. $85.

Now, I am a forgetful girl. I am pretty sure he said I had 30 days to pay.

The day after I send the $85, I get a notice in the mail. It says I owe $95. I ignore it, I've already sent a check.

Nothing happens. No news, no notice, nothing.

Friday, I pick up my mail at the post office. I usually only get a chance to do it once a week, with my schedule.

My license has been suspended since June 16.

I called and tried to explain that I called like I was supposed to and I paid what I was told and why was my license suspended over a late fee? The TICKET was paid. No sympathy. She told me now I owe $54 to get my license back.

So I am stuck at home on a Sunday morning with a house full of hungry people, five videos due back today, nearly out of milk and bread, and the worst part of all, almost out of TP!!

Heh heh heh... I have had my license suspended as well...

And for an even more stupid reason.

In Colorado, you have to have a front license plate at on at all times. Well, in the winter, snow gets piled up at the ends of driveways and whatnot. I had pulled my Jeep up against a snow bank one day and when I pulled back out, it pulled my license plate off. Well, I saw it, grabbed it, and stuck it in my front window and went to work.

I had to park on the street in a nearby neighborhood, as I had so many times before. Well, I get off and get to my car. There is a ticket on my car stating that I needed to have a front license plate. I got it while I was PARKED on the side of a street, completely legally. AND the plate was stuck in my front window on the passenger side. Well, I didn't think much of it, and a similar thing happened. I forgot to pay, finally paid, LATE but never got a letter.

Was driving to work about a year or so later. My tail light is out. Get pulled over, and I find out from the officer that my license had been suspended because of an unpaid fine. I couldn't believe it. I was on the side of a busy street, and couldn't drive my car, even to get it off the road.

He was nice, and said, "Legally, you can't drive. But I am not going to SIT HERE ALL DAY, and make sure you don't." I said, thank you, I understand. He pulled off, and I drove to the parking lot. Had to take off work the next day and go to court to have my license reinstated. Heh heh heh...

So... touche... I understand the license thing. Just be glad you found out when you did. When I got to court, they said they had sent me a letter. But they sent it to an apartment address from about 3 years prior. Heh heh heh...

LOL...sorry. I have been a very good girl. I have never had my lis. suspended. KNOCK ON WOOD. However I can sympathize.

And if you live close to me in South Jersey..I will personally deliver you some toilet paper to get you by..and return your videos for you.

Smiles,
Dawn
