Hi there my wife and I are seperated 3 weeks now, I have been in contact with her on a regular basis, the first week she left she went and leased a new car, traded in her old one that she is still paying for,now the bank wants to do a credit check on me!She wants me to go to the bank and sign some papers so the bank will let her sell her old car,but I am going to have to pay the rest of the loan, should I do this.I think she is going to fast at this,it's only been 3 weeks I'm doing everything to understand her but she said she is messed up.I know I am,I drink to much so I have been going to AA meetings 3 times a week and getting my self together, and all she cares about is her new car and going to the horse races {her parents have horses}.I feel she has given up on our marriage.I want us to go to councilling and she is not sure, she needs time to herself.I don't want our marriage to end without a fight but I can't make someone do something they don't want to do.My wife has just turned 30, and had a cancer scare,I don't know if this is a mid life crisis for her,it seems she wants to be 20 again.I don't know, this is going to fast am I right.Riley

HI, I hope that things are getting better for you. I know how you feel. Since you care for her, you still want to help her, even if she's not being fair to you right now. I feel the same for my husband. I was supporting him financially, even though he told me he was leaving. I found it hard to cut him off financially because I still loved him. It's really up to you. If you don't mind paying off her loan, then sign the papers. I ended up paying his $1300 cell phone bill that he used to call the OW in Canada. That still hurts. I hope things turn out ok for you both. This is all still new for you. Congratulations for taking the step with AA. I know it will help either way.

So why should YOU finance your wife's 'youthful' ways? I would sign absolutely NOTHING that has to do with her obligating herself financially. Things like that have this sneaky little way of circling 'round and biting you in the BUTT. Don't do it. Let her keep the car she has now. If for some reason she changes her mind, does not make payments, etc. then YOUR credit is screwed, not just hers. Harold
