I want to vent. I need to vent. I gotta vent.
I got a haircut. Had a gift certificate. Didn't know anyone there so I took whoever they gave me to.
WORD OF ADVICE TO ALL WOMEN: Do NOT get your hair cut my a man whose work you do not know and trust. You can show the idiot a picture and describe it and they still CAN NOT get it right. I should know. This has happened before. Next time I have my hair cut by a stranger, I will be sure to ask for a woman and if they want to know why, I will tell them that I haven't found a mail hairdresser in 10 years that I would go back to.
So, after using my gift certificate, I need to pay for a second haircut so a woman can fix it.
Men are not capable of getting the picture. ARE NOT CAPABLE!!!!!!!!
GROWL!!!!!!! ROAR!!!!!!! SCREAM!!!!!!!
Phy and pox on that idiot. [ August 08, 2003, 10:55 AM: Message edited by: cinderella ]

Have you tried asking the place if they'd give you a free haircut since they botched the first one?
I don't think you should have to pay for something if you aren't satisfied and certainly not have to pay for someone else's mistake.

most definatley talk to the manangement asap. they will be trying to keep their salon's reputation intact. the customer is ALWAYS right. One disappointed cusomer tells more people of their experience than a satisfied cusomer.
I used to be a salon coordinator in the biggest most reputed salon in my area. read lots of salon/business mags. They are responcible. [ August 08, 2003, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: 2ndfiddle ]

ROTFLMA!!!
Thanks princess. Those of us, 'follically challenged' could use a laugh every now and then! Sounds like this would be a perfect time to get your picture taken for your driver's license! Just kidding----send a picture to the diplomat. See how he reacts.

Oh Dear. Our poor Princess has done gone off and got herself butchered. I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps a song to help you with the pain... Harold (Local Denizen & DJ of 'The Kingdom') ------------------- The Haircut Song - Ray Stevens
Chorus When you get a haircut, be sure to go back home When you get a haircut, get a barber you have known Since you were a little bitty boy sittin' in a booster chair Or you might look like Larry, Moe or Curly if a stranger cuts your hair Well, Butte, Montana just a'passin' through, one thing I just had to do Had to get a haircut and I was worried for my hair, oh I had a feeling of impending doom the minute I stepped into that room Laid my eyes upon that barber chair
Recitation
It was a macho barber shop. Hair dryers were mounted on a rifle rack. There were no mirrors. The barber chair was a Peterbilt...Barber walked in; he was huge, seven feet tall, three hundred pounds of spring steel and rawhide wearin' a hard hat, chewin' a cigar, had a t-shirt on said, "I hate musicians". Threw me in the chair, sneered and said, "What'll it be pal?" Now a lot of people would be intimidated in a situation like this...I was not. I am what I am, play my piano, and sing my little songs. I looked him right in the eye and I said, "I'm a logger - just up from Coos Bay, Oregon. Been toppin' trees - quite possibly the tough...(cough) toughest man in the entire world". He said, "All right!" he gave me a haircut and I walked out of there friends, my hair was gone! Made Kojak look like William Lee Golden. Yeah, had a tremendous craving to operate heavy equipment. Now, you may think that Butte, Montana haircut's the worst any man could ever get...Wrong! Well, a few months later, I was way down south - grits and gravy and hush your mouth Hair so long I'm startin' to look like a man in drag It was then that the sheriff walked up and said, "Boy, you got too much hair on your head...You better get yourself a haircut or a dog tag"
Recitation
Well, when I stepped into the shop, I realized immediately that I was dealing with a born-again barber. Don't see too many barber shops with a steeple, had an organ in the corner, a choir, an usher led me to the barber chair. Barber walked in, started saying grace, "Oh Lord, for these haircuts we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful. Dominus possum pax probiscus, post mortem, et tu brute, puella carborundum". He was sorta half-Baptist, half-Catholic...maybe a Cathtist. He started cuttin' my hair and preachin' at the same time. I mean he's a wild man, scissors and razors a'flyin' around my head, he's talkin'about the evils of dancin' and drinkin' and liquor and sex and wild women and music and the music business. Then he looked down at me and he said, "What do you do for a livin'ahuh?" Now, I'm not ashamed of what I do for a livin'. Workin' bars and casinos, around liquor and wild women, I just play my piano, sing my little songs. I looked him right in the eye and I said, "I run this church for loggers!" Chorus When you get a haircut, be sure to go back home When you get a haircut, get a barber you have known Since you were a little bitty boy sittin' in a booster chair Or you might look like Larry, Moe or Curly if a stranger cuts your hair...oh yeah!

cindy, will any haircut look good with that big smokestack on your head and the smoke just rolling out. You might want to look closer. Maybe it's just singed a little from the heat! singleguy

He did an ok job as far as the cut goes, technically. Didn't cut it too short. Talked some about the technical aspects of it. Cast a glance at the picture I showed him then gave it a plain ol' neatly chopped off bob. The women will understand.
It's not mutilated. It's not ugly. It's just cut. No style to it.
Boring.
Not attractive.
Wouldn't pay 15 dollars for this look.

I think I will complain. By telephone. I will not go back and I will not get my hair cut by another man who does not have another client whom I personally know.
Yes, I was an idiot and tipped the man. After all, I was paying for it with a gift certificate. It had technically expired 9 months ago but they honored it anyway. I was feeling guilty for asking them to honor it. It had been lost.
If I ever call another place to get a haircut and do not have a stylist in mind, if they assign me to a man, I will decline - even though my favorite hairdressers have been men. I wish often that Jeremy was still alive and working in my city.

Giving the dude a good feeling for nothing. Heheheheeeeeee. Love the analogy, heheheee. LOL, Harold In some weird way, it reminds me of an old cartoon joke from the '70s - you remember - way back before computers and email. Jokes were Xeroxed and passed around in person. This particular one had Charlie Brown sitting down on a curb saying... "Doing a good job around here is like peeing your pants when you're wearing a dark suit: it gives you a warm feeling but nobody notices." BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAA! Harold
