My wife of 28 years just told me she has no romantic love for me any longer. But that she still loves and will always love me. I don't understand. But is doesn't want out of the marriage, at least at this time. Any suggestions...anyone?

First, get down on your knees and say a prayer of Thanks that your wife had the guts to tell you. Because now you can do something about it. So many spouses wait until they’ve found someone else or until they can’t stand to be married any more.

Now, go and read this site. It will tell you how to get the information you need, make a plan, and create an environment where your wife can fall in love with you all over again.

Two books are absolute must reading. LoveBusters and His Needs/Her Needs.

This is not the end. It is the beginning. Charge up your batteries for the trail ahead. It’s long one, but on the other side is the kind of romantic love that at first has you feeling like 17 again.

And welcome. You’ll get more action on the Emotional Needs thread. Or General Questions II.

Green......thanks. I have been on my knees a lot lately. This is all so new that I am in a state of shock now. I don't know what the future holds. Nor, do I know what to do at this point. I have a appointment with a Christian therapist tomorrow. He has help in times past. Am praying that he will again. Thanks again, I am new here and am finding it helping at least to vent a little.

Vent here. It's pretty safe and usually people need to vent a lot when they first get here. ENB gets a lot more action, so do post there as well.

Do not expect to get mindless reinforcement of your own views. This is a tough bunch. Take what you need, and leave the rest.

When you meet with the counselor, you may want to bring up His Needs/Her Needs.
