We have not been divorced for a week yet and all I can think about is her. I have been told by friends and family to do other things to consume my time but even at work I just think about her and pray constantly for her. I want to hold her and show her affection, even tell her I love her but I know this is her decision and this is not what she wants. It's a little easier when my kids are around but I still see the hurt in their eyes and here it comes, those thoughts again! I have asked them if they want mom and dad back together(I knew the answer before I asked) and they said yes so I told them as long as God puts that hope in your heart "keep praying" and he is faithful to answer. I feel as though sometimes it helps just to talk to someone but sometimes I feel as though my friends get tired of hearing about the same old thing,me and her. It's awful hard rest and just relax. I find myself in constant prayer. I know God is faithful but patience is thin with me which is something else I pray for God to help me be. Please pray for us. I look often to recruit people to pray. Thanks

Its tough to just get over someone real quickly.....especially when you have been with them for a long time. I was with my EX for 16yrs total and was married for almost 10yrs. But, after time has past....things do get better and memories do fade a bit. Im remarried now, and all I think about is my wife. She is on my mind CONSTANTLY. Which is a good thing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

I feel your pain and I'll be praying for you. As I'm sure you've already heard many times, it will get better with time. In the meantime, I thought I'd post this prayer that's been a tremendous help with my recovery. Good luck to you....

The Prayer of Saint Francis

"O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, harmony;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light, and
Where there is sorrow, joy.
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand; to be loved
as to love; for it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life."
