First of all, I just want to thank everyone for your posts, concern and help--especially recently.

I have been so busy with school and all the kids activities...I don't get much time to get on...and I fall in bed exhausted every night.

School is going pretty well...hectic as usual. I have great kids this year tho. Then I get home to my own kids and between homework, soccer, boyfriend problems and open houses (grrr.....I have been to 3 this week), I am dead.

Bimbo and Jimbo are still getting married next week in Florida of all places. He still hasn't paid any child support--I am still working on that. I had to borrow money from my brother to get me through this month. Don't know what I will do next month.

Last weekend, we had 7 soccer games up in KC...ridiculous, I know. Jimbo was at my son's games. My son went to his game on Saturday with my friend because my daughter's games were on the other side of the city. Jimbo happened to park next to my friend's car...and I guess he was pretty upset when he realized that my son was with him. On Sunday, he went to my daughter's games--bimbo wasn't there--a first. He couldn't have been nicer to me--which I should have seen as a red flag. He called me about 5 times that day on my cell phone, brought me a chair to sit on at the game...etc. Weird.

On Monday, I was exhausted...didn't get home from work until 5:45--I sat down to open bills and such and found what I thought looked like a letter. It had a typed label with my name on it. So, I opened it up. It was a letter supposedly written by a concerned friend who had recently spoken to my ex. This concerned friend didn't want to sign his name because he didn't want me to get angry. Then this person proceeded to lamblast my character, the way I am raising the kids, my relationship with my friend, my kids' welfare..etc. etc.

At first, I thought someone might have actually written it--and I was really hurt. Then I realized because of what he wrote on a couple of things about my kids--that my ex wrote it--he was trying to hurt me psychologically. I am still amazed that he would stoop so low. It is really sad. He is upset because the kids can't go to the wedding next week, they don't want to go--and schedule wise, they can't. He had no business scheduling it in Florida anyway. Plus, he didn't even consider their schedules at this time of year...always still about him.

That letter tho was amazing...no return address, no names, just character assassination. I never thought I would be here a few years ago.

Oh well, I just keep plugging along. On a brighter note...I had a really nice birthday today. My kids at home and school have been great. I got flowers from my friend and from my kids--and tonight, I get a few minutes to myself--while the kids are getting dinner together. It is great.

I have been reading tonight about a lot of the updates from some of "us" oldies... You are an amazing group of strong, loving people. I really hope we all start seeing some improvement in our lives in the near future. I truely appreciate all of your friendships and support you have given me over the past 2 years. This site is really a Godsend. Thanks everyone!! Pat

Hi MnM, Happy Birthday! Glad to hear that despite much of the same-old-same-old, you're handling things well.
quote:
He couldn't have been nicer to me--which I should have seen as a red flag.

Don't beat up on yourself for not seeing through WH's crazy behavior - if it was understandable, it wouldn't be crazy!

Oh My Gosh!!!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes...what a pleasant surprise tonight. Thank you!!

It was a great birthday...very loving. I feel really blessed to have 4 great kids, wonderful friends and a nice job. It doesn't even bother me much that now I am getting really close to 50!!!!! Wow, where have the years gone?

I have had a really full life tho and feel so fortunate to have done what I have been able to do these last 49 years. I saw my ex today at my daughter's soccer game in KC...he is missing so much. I feel kind of sorry for him. What poor choices he has made in his life. I think next week at his wedding, it would be a real bummer. The kids aren't going and from my understanding, many in his family aren't going either. Gosh, I would hate to be starting out a marriage that way. Oh well.

I went to an old friend of ours 1500 hour in the B2 hosedown on Thursday--an amazing feat for a B2 pilot. I thought it was going to be a small group of us oldies--but there was a lot of people there. Most of the guys are Lt Cols or Cols now doing what my ex used to do. I wasn't expecting this(Most of those guys were part of the 10 B2 classes we put through CTS training.)--but almost all of them came over and gave me a hug and told me thanks for all the hard work and support I gave them and their wives when we were starting the squadron. Many of the things we started are traditions now...and it was hard to hear all this from these guys. It was hard not to start crying.

Sometimes, I have felt cheated knowing how much I devoted myself to my husband and his career--and then he just threw me away. At least now, I know that those efforts were appreciated by many. That is kind of neat.

I also know how much my kids love and respect me...that is really something. I really feel sorry for him...I don't think he realizes even now what he has lost. How sad for him.

Thank you all again for all the birthday wishes....that was so neat tonight. Pat
