We all probably focused on the wedding vows when we got married. And then later, we found out the vows mean absolutely nothing in court. The state sees marriage only as a business partnership. Fine, but the terms were not defined and there was no contract or legal agreement.

Personally, I feel cheated by the state as well as by my wife. It's hard to be objective now, but I'm pretty sure I would never get married again without a prenuptial agreement to go with the vows.

How do you feel about this? Should there be a standard marriage contract?
