Good points ex pb. Thanks for the perspective. My STBXW had suggested that we could live 'separate lives' but live together in our home for the kids sake. I couldn't have them see this model and think this was an acceptable way to live. I didn't want them to see how she was continuing to ignore my feelings and disrespecting me. My oldest son shows signs of doing the same. Sure some of this is because he is a teenager but some of it is because of how my wife treated me over the years. He treats his mother with a lot of respect, the way I always tried to.

I think when we have children it is one of our responsibilities to be good models for them. That includes good models for relationships and marriage.

Hope your sister is comfortable and that you guys work out the stuff with the land issues. Don't let family take advantage of you like your ex-h did.
