Hi people. I'm new and just wondering what kind of place this board is? Are many of you people who left your marriages, or people who got left? Are many of you "victims" of infidelity, or "infidelitors". Is this place very much like "Divorce Busters"?

I am divorcing an emotional abuser. He absolutely disgusts me to no forseeable end. He has been out of the house for 5 months and continually changes his tact to "get me back".

We swing from comments like, "you are an evil b*tch, i am so glad i am divorcing you"

to

"please just let me show you i can be the man you need"

to

"i'm really worried about you, God help you, i hope you can deal with all the guilt and shame you must be feeling for destroying our family"

I sometimes feel I am at the absolute end of my rope and that there would be no sweeter end than peaceful everlasting sleep. I've seen a good counselor and been "released", so to speak, being told i was "right as rain".

Anyway, before I go into the gory details, all I want to know is that I will be okay.

Welcome to Marriage Builders. You will be okay. This site has really saved me. There is nothing like talking to someone who has been through what you are experiencing to get some support and comfort. There are betrayed spouses (BS) and wandering spouses (WS) here and some that have been both. My H has been gone 4 months and is living with OW, but I am getting better and better. Read up on the information here and everyone's posts and you will see you are not alone. Hang in there.

There are some like me who after years of working alone on the marriage, have left even though there was no infidelity. There are those who got left either for another person or because they were blind to the problems in their marriage or their spouse had mental, emotional problems or addiction. There are plenty of people here who were abused. And, sadly, there are some who are a little too quick to claim the “victim” role.

This particular board also has some people who don’t want to get divorced. Usually, they do not post to those who are happily divorcing.

The Kingdom of Caelron is a fun place to hang out. Read page one and skip toward the end. It’s all fun and games. Almost nothing serious.

I haven’t read the forums on DivorceBusters, but you’ll find a wide range of approaches here. Most people aren’t for marriage at any cost, but there are one or two. Most people come from a Judeo-Christian background, but there are the multi-religious like me, and a handful of Humanists.

I'm fairly new to this site and haven't spent much time on the DB site, although I did read the book a few times.
Whatever your situation is, there are always people who can relate and provide some advice along with an endless amount of support to enable you to help yourself.
The most important thing I have learned hear is that I'm not the first or only one in my situation
