Last year, I cried myself to sleep on Christmas Eve... and woke up crying. Several times while my sister's kids were opening presents, I had to leave and wipe tears from my eyes... I felt so alone. I kept wanting my phone to ring and to hear my stbx-WW's voice telling me she loved me, but at the same time I was glad she never did.
THIS year, I opened Christmas presents on Christmas Eve with my girlfriend and we lounged by the christmas tree wrapping up gifts for her daughter. We kissed a lot and listened to carols. When all the wrapping was done, we fell asleep in each other's arms and woke up to the squeals of her 2y old daughter going "Pwesents!!!!" over and over again.
What a difference time and love and patience can make!
