It can be done----it takes time, and the desire to move on and not let what someone did to you ruin your life or to wallow in the mistakes you have made.

What is your story? How long was the relationship? It has been said here that the longer you were together and have a history, the longer it will take to get over it. That was not true for me. I have recovered miracluously but I have a very effective spiritual program so I credit God's healing power that got me to where I am today.

I never lived alone before and what a drastic, painful adjustment that was. I loved my H more than I loved myself so that ripping and tearing and destruction of that love was the most painful thing I ever felt.....but I have never been happier or more content now. I do feel a void at times not being able to share my life with family memebers but it does not control my every emotion or rule all my decisions like before.

I am still trying to get over my marriage. I had a 25 year marriage. It takes time is what I have been told. And I have to admit that I am much stronger than I was 6 months ago. The happiness is there sometimes, and sometimes not. I still have ups/downs. My divorce was in June of 2003.

The one thing that has helped me tremendously, is to give it all to God. There is no one else that will take care of you as God does.

Tossedwave - you mentioned a "spiritual program" that has helped you. I've been praying and reading passages, but I don't really have a "program" for recovering from the pain of betrayal. Are you willing to share what you've done that's helped you so much? Thanks

We plan to talk sometime in the next year.

Do you have some good memories of your marriage? I hope it wasn't all bad.
