After 5 years with someone who says he loves me, we fell apart late August due to drinking, running around with guy friends and lying. He moved out and keeps coming back saying he loves me. I just found out that he has been seeing another girl. I called the girl and told her that he still comes over and sees me and says he loves me. I have caught him in so many lies over the years, even though we aren't legally married we have been living together and doing all that married couples do. He has a drinking problem. I do love him but how stupid am I for allowing this to continue? How do I move on without feeling quilty that someone with a alcohol problem has a disease and doesn't have anyone to support him emotionally right now? Is it my responsiblity?

Sometimes when I would post my question, after seeing it in black and white all typed and all, I found my answer. Do you see yours?
1)you're not married 2)it's only been five years and you have no legal ties to him and can get everything you have and split 3)he's not your husband; if you had that concrete committment with one another, then I would fight for reconciliation. But as is, he didn't commit to marriage and I guess his actions are showing why he didn't want to.
He's not your problem if it were my sitch. Serve him up to his gf on a silver platter. But should he want to come back, tell him he has to do some work and must work with you on a concrete plan for his alcoholic recovery and for your relationship to both recover AND mature.
