Just wondering if any MBer's lived around Sugarloaf mountain in Maine.
I'm thinking of taking the girls there to ski in March.

Well, I don't live there, but my grandparents were married and my father was born in Brownville Maine, not too far from the Sugarloaf mountains.
You are talking about some of the most beautiful country in the entire northeast. There will still be plenty of snow in march. And the best part I found is that they don't seem to take unfair advantage of tourists. When we visit, we mostly just run into decent folks trying to make a living. And they have a dry sense of humor that goes on for days.
Enjoy your vacation!

I've vacationed up there, it's beautiful.
But be careful asking directions, because if they are in a teasing/fun mood you might get:
"Yeah, go down to Ms. Molly's blue house, it used to be blue, till they painted it some other color, and make a left. Continue on the road until you see the old school house that isn't there anymore, and keep going until you get there" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Don't know anything about the area, but it sure sounds like a terrific vacation, enjoy and admire the beautiful country.

My dad lives in S. Maine. He's in the hospital now and I plan to visit him in the next few months. I have another friend who will be in Maine in March, too. I haven't gone skiing in 30+ years, but sounds like fun!

Hey GG,
If I remember correctly Sugarbush is futher up than where we skied at in Bethal, Maine. It is very close to the Canadian boarder. My ex said that it was great mountain to ski. Should still have snow but slushy...and it could rain at times. Just going off of skiing trips in March at where we skied. Have fun no matter what.

HI, I live in Maine, about 1 1/2 hours from Sugarloaf. I've nver skied there but I have friends that have and love it. Maine is beautiful this time of year. And we do usually have plenty of snow in March and sometimes into the end of April (yuck) by this time I'm wishing for spring. You should have a wonderful time skiing and check out the other areas. Another nice time of year is summer and Fall. SH01
