well the big D is behind me, I am moving on. Met a GREAT guy a couple of months ago.

but I am still cleaning up after my ex.

I had to soothe the kids after his overdose on the street couple of years ago while he was in hospital.

I had to pick up my daughter from police station (for shoplifting) just a couple of days after ex walked out on us.

I had to sit through the probation interviews and help he get through that. Ex never even asked when her court date was..or what the outcome was. In fact he made it sound to her like she should have done better in trying to shoplift!!!!

I have been there every time she has cried because her dad is a jerk and I was there for her when she broke up with boyfriend because now she feels like she cant trust men. She doesnt want to be hurt anymore.

and on and on and on

NOW GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Ex finally made the big announcement tonite that he and crotch cricket have been living together for some time (like kids didnt already know) and are now engaged.

Kids already were forewarned about engagement, but it was still devastating to them..especially my daughter(age 19)

My former M-I-L gushed on and on about how this OW loves their dad and will do anything for him. She is sooooooooo nice and she knows they will like her. OW does sooooooooo much for my MIL..she is so great.

Like I did not do any of those things..let alone all of them. I feel like my entire adult life was discounted down to nothing.

and now I have to deal with helping my D through this. She called me at my friends house crying hysterically. She had a friend come pick her up so she wouldnt be alone. He is a good friend to bounce things off of. So I left my friends early, came home and put my groceries away and gave her a little time with her friend. Now I have to go and pick her up and UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I am tired of our emotions being ripped apart every time things seem on an even keel.

Ex is a jerk,
I know it
Daughter knows it
my 3 sons know it

but it still hurts.

He handled it horribly..they were actually leaving his moms house..had their coats on and were moving towards the door when he told them. D went outside crying hysterically and former MIL and ex stood there at door waving and thanking them for coming (it was ex's BD yesterday)

None of the kids gave him a card or a present, and none of them even called him yesterday for his BD...when will he come out of this fog. They are still so angry with his actions and he has no remorese for anything..yet he makes announcement like this on a hit and run basis. Like happy birthday to me.

He wants to set up time to meet her as he is "sure they will like her"

Is he totally nuts???????

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

VENT

Sorry..no smiles tonite..have to go pick up daughter
pray for me to say right things
Dawn

Sunrise-

I'm sorry you are going through this. All of your children, save one, is old enough to cut Dad out of their lives if dealing with him is too painful for them.

When my Dad was going to leave my Mom for his OW of 7 years, my sister and I were in our 30's. We told Dad that while he would always be welcome in our home OW would never be welcome, as we would not slap our Mom in the face that way.

(which also meant that the grandchildren and my sister and I wouldn't be visiting his new home with OW)

We meant it too. We hadn't been blind to how they both treated each other in their marriage, they were both to blame for it's condition, but Dad would never consent to MC.

Well the OW in Dad's life couldn't stand coming between Dad and his daughters since she and her own father had such a horrid relationship. After OW broke it off with Dad she was engaged to someone else 4 months later.

I guess we were lucky in that reguard. TOW board has WS/OPs going through this and others telling them to stick it out the kids will give in.

It's up to your kids. All but one is an adult -- they don't have to be jerked around by Dad. They do have some power in this situation.
