I took the neighborhood kids fishing last weekend and today. We had a wonderful time, and this occurred to me. What a great way to meet all kinds of people.

We had a bucket with the fish we caught swimming around in in, and there must have been 100 people that stopped and looked in the bucket, men and women. Then you get in a conversation about what kind of fish it is, what you used for bait, etc. Lots of people stood there and watched us, helped us, and chatted.

Now if you can't catch a fish, you can go to the store and buy one and put it in a bucket of water. Or would that be playing dirty?

I'm thinking a salmon filet and a bag of frozen shrimp wouldn't quite have the same effect..

You are tooooo funny! Of course you would also have the right kind of fish for the area you are in. No lobster if you are fishing in a lake.

How about a squid in the bucket. I bet the looks would be awesome .

Never thought of that, but I have a bluefront Amazon bird. And when I used to take her to the horse shows with my daughter, (she doesn't show now) I would always trail behind, because everyone would ask about the bird. Good idea for the upcoming summer. I will take my dog and the bird for my walks. That way who knows who I shall meet, maybe my knight in shining armor, . The bird will be the one to tell me if that person is okay .

Kind of ironic now, the bird doesn't like XH much anymore. She heard him yell and scream, and was so mean, they can tell. The bird really loves me a lot, so I got the bird, and I am happy to have her. Just like a dog, they can sense the others feelings.

I do a lot of walking and see lots of people. Sometimes I say hi, but that is about it. So when I went fishing, I was pleasantly surprised at how much other people want to be friendly and talk, they just need a reason.

Both men and women talked to us. The women wanted to know about the fish. Most of the men wanted to help, or make suggestions on how to do it better (Is that typical, or what??? - sorry guys). There were some real cuties. Ooops, I almost forgot I am still married.
