My wife has no interest in kissing me. I thought it might be my dental hygiene and began many months a go brushing my teeth several times a day, flossing regularly and rinsing with mouthwash. I am losing all interest in sex as kissing is very important to me. Is there anyone else out there with the same problem or any suggestions on what I might do?
[ December 27, 2001: Message edited by: Lafs a lot ]

I'm reluctant to kiss my H. Part of it is dental hygiene, but not completely. It could be a deeper problem than just kissing. I don't want my H to kiss me, because in the past, if I was willing to be kissed then he assumed I was willing to have sex. There was no seperation of affection and SF for him. Affection HAD to lead to SF. He is slowly starting to see the difference, but still I am often reluctant to kiss, or to act as though I like it for fear he will assume he can take it further.
You should talk with your W about why she avoids kissing, and explain it is very important to you. If you guys are honest with each other, then hopefully she will tell you. Do you show her affection and kissing that doesn't have to lead to sex? It could be something completely different from my experience. I know when I was pregnant too the second time I couldn't kiss him, sorry but it made me nauseous, probably physical and emotional reaction there, but it went away eventually.
Hope this helps, but you should get lots of advice here. I'm new, but I've been reading a lot, and there are some great folks here.

Lafs a lot-I am a wife who does not like to kiss her husband, and I agree with hopeitsticks. My husband equates any affection with sex. Just putting my arms around him gets a response that is not what I had hoped for. It is impossible to kiss him good morning, no matter what the hygiene is because he will see this as a signal to "begin" and his engine will be in overdrive and I will be sitting at the table drinking coffee and he will be somewhere else, resentful and thinking I was leading him on. I thought it was only me.

Hey I get the same thing from my W. Who is a WS. Says kissing me makes her feel like she's suffocating. Never had this problem before the OM. And no ladies kissing doesn't have to lead to sex for me. I like lots of affection OUTSIDE the bedroom. She can't do that either. So you're not alone LafsaLot. Don't know your situation but this is mine. I'm still working on Plan A.

My wife is very particular about how we kiss. She finds neck/body nibbling totally different and better experience that the lip/lip thing. She also likes it when I kiss her on the face

I used to tell my husband every time he tried to french kiss me to get his 'cow tongue' out of my mouth (gad, I'm mean!)---then he left me because I was cold to him. That was last December.
I begged him to come home for three weeks and while we always made love on a regular basis, it has just recently returned to the way it used to be. I've come to realize I like 'cow' kissin' better than no kissin' a tall!

Hey diddallas
I got a hand it to ya. This is the first time I've seen on here where someone has pulled the reins in on a simple man/woman behavior and wound up loosing the other person eventually. But Then you had guts to admit it and that's what it takes. That's great. Seems lately most just say "oh well"
It's like we can't give and take a bit. Thanks for listening.
didi
