I had a strange weekend with STBXW and Kids.
We all went to see her B off to Iraq. spent all day friday driving, spent weekend at Hotel with her family and all day sunday driving back.
All weekend everything was like it used to be between us other than physical contact. We all had a good time under the circumstances.
When we got back home, I felt again like W couldn't be near me or look at me.
It was like we were putting on a show for her family that everything is ok with us and then when her family is no longer around, its back to the same old thing.
Is this normal? It's not like her family doesn't know whats going on.

In my case, I thougth we were on our way to recovery, We had a few nice weeks, no fighting, everybody got along, spent time with family, have a designated gamenights, bath time for the kids and family time with the children. She then informed me Sunday after I dragged it out of her that she had filed for the divorce last Thursday. Oh well, back to square one for me, still hoping and praying...

WIWH, Sometimes little “vacations” all people to feel safe and free. Once they return to everyday life, all the stresses and troubles are still there to be faced.
My STBX and I vacationed well together (most of the time) and had lovely dates. But, within days of being home or hours after a date, the same problems were right in my face. Eventually, it got to the point where I couldn’t stand it.
And often people like to pretend every thing is going well to their families.
Hold true to your plans and boundaries. That’s all you can do. Or next time, you stay home.
