Hi Faithful Wife, WOW! you've been here since I was last here 2-3 years ago. I'm sorry about your pet. They sure have an impact on our lives, don't they.
It brought back my own sad memories - I had to choose between taking care of my aging friends or feeding my children. I still cry about it because they weren't ready to go and I still miss them. It was a horrible choice to have to make. And because of that, I will never have another pet again. I can't ever see myself having to go thru that again.
I wish you peace Faithful, hope you're doing ok.

Hi FW
I am the biggest animal lover too! It has gotten me in big trouble. Ironically, I gave my H. the dog we have now, border collie mix, to him as a wedding present. I adopted him from a local shelter. Unfortunately this dog has a screw loose. He is now eight but when I adopted him, he was only months old. He has severe separation anxiety. Can't crate him, can't leave him alone. He is an escape artist. No manners. But tons of love. We spent $$$$$$$$$ on this dog. Trainers, vets, therapist and so on. But nothing works. Well, to be honest, with what I have been through, I have no time. Because he keeps escaping and other things, we are talking about putting this animal down. We cannot give him to a shelter because we feel it will make the dog worse. And who knows who he will be adopted too? I would love to give him to a family that can work with him 100% of the time, but that is so unlikely! I today, I nearly had it! I cried when my H. had to go get him. We have had animal control called on us a lot by our neighbor (who is affaid of ladybugs. So we made the decision to have him put down <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" /> Next week!
I can feel for you. Especially when that animal has been around you for years!

Sorry about your dog. I have a 3 yr old gsd mix and she is my baby - I don't know what I would do without her. Kind thoughts to you.

i am so sorry..I also lost a dog in the past, and my parents, too, they died tragically, so I left alone with abuseive husband. Life is hard, and I enjoy my every breath, like it is my last one. I wish you all the best, and just the time will heal wounds, but you will never forget your dog, It is always a part of you.
Peace
l,
