I know I am going to need some help through this time. This is the first night alone since he left. I try to be optimistic about the future and what it will bring, but I don't know where to start. We have been together for 16 years and married for almost 9 of those.
We have 3 Children, 1 daughter (grown and on her own) 2 boys, one is 12 and the other is 15. I am very worried how this will all affect them. He is already talking about separating and dividing the furniture etc., alimony and Child Support. It has not even been 12 hours since he left!
I cry for what seems no reason out of the blue, I get angry for the same reason. My Dr. prescribed me some meds to help me sleep, I took that tonight at 9:00... and here I am WIDE awake, it is supposed to make me sleepy for about 8 hours... not working. Does anyone know if that is a common side effect? I need to seriously get some sleep, 6 hours over the past 3 days is not helping me function or think clearly.

Sorry you're going through this, but MB is a great place to be. Have you read through all the info on this site? (Not just the discussion forums)
Sometimes meds can have the opposite effect. Give it a little time, and maybe they will work as they are intended. If not, your doctor can change to another.
I don't know your story, and the time frames you've given have me a little bit confused. Could you post a brief version of your marital background here?

I'm sorry to hear how badly you are feeling. I can relate to your sleeplessness. I reacted the same way when my husband told me he was moving out. I don't think I slept for more than an hour at a time for days. BUT.... it WILL get easier. Your life has just been turned upside down. Once you realize that you will survive, you'll start to calm down.
I agree, this is a great place for you to be. It's well worth the time to read everything this site has to offer.
I wish you well -- and a good night's sleep very soon!
