I know it's been a long time since I've posted here and believe me it's not because all is well. I just stopped using this avenue. Maybe if I'd kept on posting here I would be better by now. It's been almost 3.5 years since me and my ex husband first seperated and I still am clinging to the fond memories of my marriage with him. I moved from California to Arizona thinking it would help, but I still find myself chasing a man that has clearly emotionally moved on.
What maked letting go so hard is that he has professed his love for me as recently as early March 04. But then he takes it back when I start pressuring him for a relationship. I'm am such an emotional mess. Last week he told me to let him go. And this time i know i need to.
It has been only 4 days since I've spoken to him. I'm trying to get my 30-day chip. I feel like if I can maintain non-communication, I will be able to get free. I miss him, but I know that contacting him will merely be a quick fix.
I just need some support right now. Please help me...

Take the time to work on you and heal. Once you become an emotionally healthy person, he will be even more attracted to you. Perhaps the clingy behavior is what is causing him to back away. We are most attractive to others when we are happy with ourselves. Do things for yourself, learn to like yourself. And heal yourself.

this is so good that i copied it and pasted it to print and look at. i'm sure many have already given me that exact advice, but this is the first time i heard it! thanks. i know that is exactly correct.
i'm not sure that the true desire of my heart is to be attractive to him. but i sure do want to be attractive to someone and i know being the emotional mess that i am is far from attractive...

Given your tag line, maybe you should repeat the Serenity prayer. I don't know it fully, but I think it will help.
Many times, remembering our blessings helps us. So put your hand in front of your face, and list 5 blessing that you can think of right now. And be glad for them. Write them down so you can remember them. We all have good things in our lives - sometimes we just forget them.
Today is a bright sunny day and I am enjoying the beautiful weather, my wonderful children, our health, our home and our togetherness.
For what are you thankful?

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference...Amen
I'm thankful for a wonderful 16 year old daughter and a 20 year old son that love me and make me feel alive, i'm thankful for my love of God, my material blessing, (ie car, home)that i never thought i could maintain on my own, i'm thankful for my reasonably good health, friends and people like you that remind me that God is good and He's not finished with me yet! <small>[ April 20, 2004, 03:46 PM: Message edited by: idostylin ]</small>

Did that make you feel better?
I also know that God isn't done with me yet either.
