i am currently exiting a ver awful 18 year marrage, i could say it all but i would need a million years to say just how bad it is, my question is is there such a thing anymore as a legal seperation?..one block is we live in his moms house i ret the upstairs apt. just recently he moved down to his moms..is this considered a seperation?..(god i hope so) and 2 can i get a legal seperation now?..please someone help i really need to know..this has been a long verably abusive marrage and i am finally feeling like myself again..thank you

Legal separation and divorce laws vary state to state. You need to contact an attorney at this point. If you two are living in separate domiciles, it counts toward your time apart in many states. But it varies greatly. I’m in PA, and there are a few in NJ here as well as other states.
