I'm not really sure what to ask .. I am facing this Divorce without an attorney ,, I just can't afford one at this time .. my wife keeps doing things she's not allowed 2 like have him stay over around the kids and spend the night at his house with my children.. sell off marital property .. things like that.

I haven't been on this site in a while .. it breaks my heart seeing everyone that is hurting over on JFO board. I quess I'm looking 4 some support on this Divorce .. I don't want it, but our marriage is over and there really is no turning back now.. at least that is what I keep hearing from her ..

I quess I should give a small run down .. I did a poor Plan A .. until I settled down and got my head on straight .. well a little at least <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> a fairly good plan B ( still in it ) But none of it has mattered. My wife just wants out and now she is being viscious about it. .. so any comments would be appreciated

L & C,

I'm sorry that you're going thru this.

The best advice I can offer is GET YOURSELF AN ATTORNEY. Whatever you do, I do not advise going into court without one. You will be at the mercy of HER attorney. While the court does have to allow you to represent yourself, you are also held to the same standards as any other legal representative, i.e. attorney, and I am afraid that you will be so screwed if you don't have other representation. You'd be going in with a hungry rottweiler while you're wearing a suit made of bologna.

Good luck.

You can choose any lawyer in your area, and they will give you a FREE consultation.. (usually a 45 minute appt) pick one who was recommended and go there with a list of questions, and pick their brains.. If you get a feel that you like them, then later on you can put a retainer down.. It is a pain to go through at first, but pick one you are most comfy with, because your in for a long haul, both financially and emotionally.. the first yr of negociations is grewling.. but things do eventually calm down.

Just so you know, if your spouse is selling things that belong to both of you, they go back 3 yrs to what you have accumulated, (if you have paper work, and proof of ownership to prove it)

Do not delay.. sometimes people do vicious things, when in the fog. not thinking rationally, only selfishly.. and I have now met and known a few , after going through this my self, that have frozen all assets, or changed names on accounts, or what have you.. you never know, until your well into it, what may have gone down already, or is yet to come..

this is all for your own protection.

good luck to you..

If you need to fight for your kids - for morality, for influence, for sanity - not just for parenting time, you can't afford to NOT have an attorney.
