first my situation, my ex and i have joint custody - however, we rotate every two weeks and he lives in or should i say lived in Kansas City, MO, our case was determined in Kansas City, MO, but he moved to Nebraska, then now moved back to St. Louis, MO, I have filed in VA for sole custody based on him moving so much, I reside in VA and daughter will be 3 years old soon. Court date June 1, what do you all suppose will happen. Will they change custody based on that, she attends daycare here, but no daycare there, and she has 8 cousins in this area. Please help and any advise would be appreciated.

I don't know how you'd continue joint custody living so far apart when the child begins school.
Be realistic about visitation now, as all things will change at school age.
There are many great reference books such as Mom's House/Dad's House, and others.

I live in VA and divorced in VA..... based on the court system as I see it and you being the mom. You will get whatever you seek. As a Dad but In your case the fact that your ex is all over the place I would be inclined to say that you should be the primary care giver (Geeesh I dont believe I said that!!! ) But forgive me as my ex would not even consider anything close to 50/50.... I would basically explain to your ex your concerns and see if he is workable to suggestions as to what would be a good plan for your daughter....... but remember Fathers are parents too.... if they want to be..... many women here would give their left arm to have their ex involved with the children but the ex does not give a crap..... Have you offered up going to a Parent Child Pyschologist with the child to determine a good parenting plan? someone that will look at all considerations but will look out for the best of the child?

For the sake of one father who would love to have more time with his children look at all options.... but on the other hand.... if he is not negotiable then you have to do what is best for your child
