My husband and I have been married for just over one year. He told me a few months ago that he felt as if he has fallen out of love. Over the last few months, we have tried to spend time together as much as we can, but the problem is his job. He is a paramedic and in addition to the crazy hours he is already scheduled, he picks up more because he says that he is unhappy at home. We rarely see each other and we have grown apart. I still love him so much and I know he loves me, but he says that we should get divorced because he doesn't think he is "in love" with me anymore. I honestly think that he has supressed those feelings because he says that he misses us and misses the time we used to spend together. I know his job gets tiresome, and he says he wishes he didn't work all the time, but he doesn't do anything to change it. we were a great couple and hardly ever had any conflict. I know in my heart that divorce is not the answer for us, but how can I convince him. He is very very skeptical of marriage counseling, but said he would really think about it. I know it may take a while, but i truly think we can pull through this, but he thinks it is unfixable. How can I get him to think more positively? How can I get across to him that marriage is a promise to love each other for ever and not just give up when the "in love" stage passes.

sorry to hear your going through a rough patch as a newlywed. How long have you guys been together total? What are your ages? Kids? What has changed in your marriage apart from his long work hours? Has arguing increased? More information would be helpful gal =)
