Hi Ashirley!<p>Been on vacation, that's why I hadn't written. WELL, it's finished! My OM is leaving town....far enough away that it's doubtful we will ever see one another again. It certainly is for the best, but I must admit, I feel very numb right now. He has permanently changed my life and I'm not sure he even knows it. Thank you for your concern! You have been WONDERFUL!! Hi Caran,
I would really like it if you'd email me. I feel like we've had a very similar experience..and I feel the need to be able to communicate with someone who understands just how hard this is. I've had a mini-relapse. I emailed my OM on Tuesday. I had a kind of legitimate reason to contact him, but I didn't really expect to hear back from him. Well, I did, and today we talked for nearly an hour. It was so nice to hear his voice and reconnect. He was so warm and kind...it was as if no time had passed.
It made me feel really good, because we really do like each other so much, I know there will never be anything more than a friendship...I want so badly for that to be possible...but just don't know. I realize that he is a really special friend. He will be there for me if I need him, but I really need to move on...
In someways I'm envious that your OM is moving away...but that's got to be hard as well. For me, right now, I just can't seem to be able to shut the door tight.
Even though it would have hurt my feelings if he hadn't responded to my last email; and returned my call....it probably would have been for the best.
Anyway, I appreciate your listening and hope I can do the same for you.

Ashirley-how long have you had your friend? I have to admit that when you said he was 'warm and caring' on the phone, I felt sick. That's what my H said about his lover. Well, considering how she was supposed to be MY best friend, she didn't turn out to be very warm or caring at all. At least not when she was in MY bed with my H. And then had the nerve to leave a birthday gift in my porch after that and couldn't understand why I wouldn't accept it. I guess I don't really know your whole story. ARe you still married? Working on things?
