Hello,
This is my 1st time posting here at MB. I hope to be able to get some sound advice and maybe make a friend or two. Here is my dilema. My H and I have been married for almost 3 years. He is a wonderful man, it is the 2nd marriage for both of us. I should also add that he 17yrs older than I am. I am in school full time, I went back to school after we got married and he is an executive. We live a good life, he is very good to and for me and I am sure he says the same about me.
Our finances are where "I" have problems. Like I said b4, he is an executive and earns about $250K per yr. He has no debts, controls the finances, although he lets me know what he is doing and what is being done with the $$$ etc. In the meantime, I have run up almost $10,000.00 in credit card debt. I don't know how it managed to accumaulte, I feel so stupid. I kept my own credit cards after we got married, unfortunately most of them were dept store cards with high interest. I like to look nice, H likes me to look nice, I get $500.00 per month from our a/c as "spending $" for me each month which I used to put towrads my credit card payments. Now, things have gotten somewhat out of hand and I am afraid that he will find out that I have not been handling my finances well. Does anyone have any idea on how I should deal with this? Our joint credit card is paid off in full every month so he has no debts at all. I am the one with the debt. I feel as if I have been lieing to him... I need help.

#1 You sould never have gotten where you are, Please see the rule about radical honesty. For example he tells you all.
#2 Dont let the sun go down another night without telling him, the longer it goes on the worse it is.
The way I have dealt with difficult issues in the past is to ask a question, for example "If I messed up and became overextended on my personal credit cards, would you rather that I continue to feel like crap and hide it, or would you rather that I tell you about it? It will obviously be difficult but this way you sort of let him think about his reply. If you dont get busy you will wind up looking like Luciele Ball!
Another route would be to get His Needs Her Needs by Dr Harley and read it, get him to read it. go over it together, and in the spirit of themoment when you are discussing "radical honesty" tell him about it.
Either way the worst thing that may happen is that you will have to be more responsible.
