Hi K-
I haven't heard from you in a while and was just wondering how you're doing. I am assuming that you have been devoring those romance novels. I think of you every time the commercial for Nicholas Spark's The Notebook comes on. Oh to attain that undying love!
On another thought, I think I recommended quite a while ago that you read Mars and Venus Starting Over. Did you ever read it? This is just my protective mothering side coming out. You have been talking about romance and fairy tale endings a lot lately and this books deals with how we women fall into those trappings and end up with frogs instead of our princes.
So what did you end up buying at Victoria's Secret? You go girl!
I'd love to hear from you.
Take care and God bless! K

Your so Sweet Still!
I can't believe you think of me.
I have been lurking as they say, but have not felt like I have had anything great to add to threads. I think I'm in a Funk! So I truly, truly appreciate you seeking me out.
My reading has slowed, as I have read all but two of his books. I'm waiting for both of them as I write. Message In a Bottle (which I have seen that) and Three Weeks With My Brother. And yes, oh yes, there are plans to see The Notebook! I'm meeting up with my sister and mom this week. I think it will be a chick flick!
No, I have not gotten that book, but I think I need to. It sounds like a must read. Thanks for mentioning it again. I will look for it, and soon!
Don't know if you caught my post on I think JustPeachys. I broke it off witht he guy I had been seeing. I has been a week. I have to say, I miss him greatly! I have had tears. I feel like I'm back in HS. When the kids are with their dad, I have all of this TIME on my hands. Which, is what I wanted. He seems to understand, but I did hurt him greatly. He has been divorced for several years, and I think could be ready to settle down. I feel for him. He is young, just approaching mid thirties (imagine how I snagged that??)and no family real close. I know he has to be lonely. He has only called me once, so he is respecting my space. I have almost broke down and called him back, but knew it was for the wrong reasons. Like I have said, he is wonderful, to me and to my girls. I have a couple of issues with him. One being that he seems needy of my time. He doesn't have a lot of friends, and I became so big in his life that I felt he wanted to be with us all the time. I started to feel smoothered, and like it was a chore to invite him over. That is not right. The other things are minor personality traits that aren't huge, but nonetheless, bothered me. I think it all adds up to maybe he isn't the one. Sad, because he is wonderful.
Something that has been troubling me is I had my annual exam Friday. I guess I'm not in my youth anymore, and things will start to change. I have to go for an diagnostic Mamo. She wants to be sure of my lumpy bumpys as she called them. I think it runs in my family, but it still scares me. My mom and grandmother both have lumpy B's, but its always scarey. I have had one other mamo, and everything was fine. The other thing she set me up for is a sonogram. She thinks I could have Fibroids. You know when this stuff gets mentioned, your mind goes crazy. Let me tell you, I almost called this guy back over this one, but I thought how unfair of me. I have read up on Fibroids, so if this is what I have, I can deal with it. I don't go until August for the tests. I will be praying in the meantime.
As far as my purchase? I was in need of a new bra. My nude colored one was showing wear. So, don't you know they were having a sale, so I got 2 for the price of 1. Different ones of course. Then, couldn't stop there, had to get matching panties! Got my toes and nails done. Picked out this color that I always use at home.Kind of a pinky/mauvy. I sat in the pedicure chair, chatted with this other woman, which ends up, has been D for 17 years. Can you imagine? Says she will never marry again. Anyway, she picks out this summery orangey color. Think its called, Cajun Shrimp, or something. I think to my self, how daring! I think I'll have what she is having. So, I did the same. And, I like it!! It was a fun Saturday night thing to do.
Yesterday, I took my D to a new doctor. I'm always trying to find help for her. Since her illness, she has gained 70 pounds. It's so sad. She is only 13, and she can't control it. The meds she takes, and the damage from the tumor make it so weight loss is not possbile, only gains. Anyway, I took her to an Alternative Med doctor. I have new hopes. She did blood work on her (of course) and she is having us do another saliva based test at home. My X went, he was also supportive, and hopeful. I can't give up on my daughter and medicine. I don't believe that in the current years we are in, and technology, that there is no hope for her as far as her weight. With where her tumor was located, obesity kind of will go with it. I'm not buying it! She was so tiny when this happened. Now, she weighs almost the same as me. I pray for her, and a miracle all the time. It breaks down her self esteem pretty well.
Well now, I hope I didn't over step your question with such a lonnnng answer. I needed to let this all out there, and boy do I feel like a weight has been lifted somewhat. I appreciate your kindness in searching me out and checking on me. You are one special person! Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.
K.

Hi again Still
Wanted to add something more.
I knew this was coming, but as of today, totally forgot. As my daughter and I were taking our walk this morning she asked me what day it was. (you know how summer is, everyday is saturday). She said, oh yeah, and its the 29th, I said yes. And then it all came to me, Today WOULD have been my 19th wedding Anniversary. So strange that I felt no pain. I wondered how I would feel when today came, and wahlah, forgot!
Talk to you soon. K.

Sunrise,
I wish I did live near you, sorry I don't. I need someone to pal around with too!
I have a couple single friends, but they have boyfriends and don't move without them. I have a lot of married friends too, but they also have families that keep them busy.
Treat yourself some day. It was my big Sat night out. It was kind of fun!
Thanks for writing! K.

Hi K-
I'm glad you are doing well. Sometimes no matter how well life is going I just need to check in with my friends here as I feel that nobody else understands me so well.
I am so for your shopping spree. We all can use some pampering to keep our spirits up. Good for you! Interesting about the divorced lady next to you. I often wonder how I would feel if I was older. Being 36 and thrust head first into the child centered family years I am very family orientated. I often wonder how I would feel about remarriage and relationships in general if my kids were grown and I was on my own.
I can imagine your annual gave you a bit of a scare. Even if it is nothing, which is what it will most likely turn out to be, it gives you a scare. I know, I have been there and the waiting is agonizing. Relax, it is most likely nothing. I will keep you in my prayers.
I am so sorry for your daughter as well, she has been through so much already. She doesn't need the agony of weight gain with it. I am glad your XH was there as well. She needed that. I will keep her in my prayers. She is a such and impressionable age. She deserves a break.
As for the man in your life. You have had a trying week. It is only human that you would want to reach out to him. I am glad you were able to resist the urge and got through this alone. Until you are sure what you want it really is the best thing to do.
I really do recommend that you read the book though. I think it may give you some perspective.
Lastly, congratulations on not noticing what would've been your wedding anniversary. Isn't it liberating? I am glad you have moved on and healed enough to not even notice this day. In time may you notice it only to appreciate it as the means to which you got your beautiful daughters.
Well, the kids are calling. Write back. It is good to hear from you.
Take care and God bless! K
