My WH is very confused about what he wants in life. I am moving to Plan B, because of what the continued contact with OW is doing to me. I am slowly dying inside. I am going to see an attorney next week, not to file, but just to get some advice and recognize my rights. I want to be ready in case.
I am so clueless about what I should be gathering and questions that I want to ask.
Can someone please advise me?

Questions to ask your attorney.

What can I do to protect myself and my family financially?
What’s the best and worse case scenario if I file? If my husband files?
What happens if he files for divorce?
Is there a waiting period? Is there legal separation?
What can I do to ensure I get the best custody arrange possible should we end up divorcing?

Can I sue my H. for half the money he spend on OW?

Bring with you….
Your social security number, your husband’s, your children’s. Bring any pre-nuptual agreements, a rough list of marital and personal assets, a pad of paper and a pencil to write down all the answers, and a box of tissues.

He’ll need the list of assets to tell you how to protect yourself.
I visited my lawyer three times before I filed. LOL. Luckily my lawyer works at my speed – slow.

Good luck. I hope you never need the information.

You may want to visit the site links below, and read up before visiting a lawyer. They have specific info for each state. This could answer some of your initial questions, and having background knowledge will definitely cut down on the time you spend with the lawyer.

Divorce Info

Thank you so much for your help. I hope I really don't need to use what I learn, but I know that it is best to be safe. It's a really scary place to be. I'll check out the sites.
Thanks again.
