It was my own head!!!!

My son and I were editing some video last night of a wedding that I helped decorate for, my yd was the camera person and she had a shot of my back side in the video and as we were watching I said "stop back up, that's me". My son said yeah so, I hadn't seen a picture of me since I've lost all the weight, I was just amazed. I was use to being a big person size 24 at my largest and now I am into 12's, if it weren't for hips I could be size 10!!!! I've had a lot of people come up to me and tell me how good it is I look and that I should be proud of myself and I am!!!

But it still got me last weekend when I meet x to drop off yd and he didn't even mention it, this was a man I knew for 22 years and he couldn't say a thing to me. UGH!!! Still his loss!!!

However with losing all the weight and everything I am still not dating or even being hit on, I know I've brought this up before here. But it just blows my mind. My girlfriend and I decided that I must put off a funky don't touch me vibe or something. I don't know. It is dicouraging at times though. And to think that I am to date 30 men I can't even get one to ask for my phone #. I would just like to flirt a little and have some fun, I've got 5 more weeks on my own and I was hoping for a little summer romance. I guess I'll just read about it and soak in the whirlpool!!!!

Just my thoughts to day and the dog just didn't care!!!

Ok Dawn - so where are you hanging out, in hopes of meeting some of these men (and, by the way, I sure hope I don't have to date 30 men before I find the future Mr right!!)
I am sure you have read all the same books I have, and gotten the same advice I have -
are you involved at church?
Do you need to get involved in a bigger church, with more possiblities?
Volunteering anywhere?
Taking a class in the fall at the local
community college?
One book I would suggest you read is: Mars and Venus on a Date
It is the same weird "men are from Mars" stuff from John Gray, but he does make some valid points, and there is some good advice in there.
I wish I had read it before I got into the 6 month reationship that just ended.

AFS,
Have said all along that I will not be pushy this time around. I am a very strong willed person and I don't want to ever wonder again if I pushed someone into something. So I haven't asked for any one's number. Hey thanks for the congrats, I lost the weight for myself to be a healthier person, but darn the bene was to have been guys!!!!

womanoffaith5,
Yes been there and done that. Volunteer at church and attend regularly, won't change churches as this is the church that I grew up in and am very comfortable and set on a # of boards, volunteer a number of places. Have done the bar scene not to pick up guys neccessarily, like the music and the dancing. Done the race cars, music festivals, the fair, the rodeo anything in town we pretty much hit. I have a friend who's divorce was about the same time as mine and so we hang out together, but she even found a guy, one of the three single guys from church, the other is my brother and the third is church guy that I've mentioned before. I think he is just plain scared of me, don't get that, I am not a dependent type person am more of a take charge person and I think that scares most guys away. I've tried not to be so forceful and even set back and keep my mouth shut. I am a fun person and find fun in most everything that I do.

I work at a small school, only a few single guys there but weighed over 250lbs when I started working there, so no interest in that department. I bowl alot, have meet a few guys doing that, but then I try really hard not to beat them bowling and that doesn't help!!!

I haven't had any friend that have tried setting me up with anyone so I guess that's good in someways and bad in others.

I am not desperate by any means, just want a little male companionship, some one to flirt with and to go to a movie or dinner with. I am not looking for Mr. Right or anything else. I did register with American singles on line, but really don't have the heart to do that either. Maybe I want prince charming to ride in and sweep me off my feet!!!! I don't know!!! Guess I just thought that when Ihad lost the weight that that wouldn't be holding me back anymore and I guess that it wasn't.

I'll trade you for my number <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Hope you don't find the childish humor inappropriate. It is good to hear someone say how great they feel about themselves. It is a true reflectionon on your personality.

Well thank you!!! I do feel good about me!!! I was always a little afraid of losing the weight, I thought that I would lose who I am, I didn't it just enchanced me!!!!

It was funny though the other night a friend had just moved back into the area, she is 36 or 37 we went and bowled and these two young guys bowled with us and they wanted to know where we were going afterwards and I explained to hear my brother and his band play, so they went along, they had had some to drink so we drove. I've known these guys for about a year, they are the same age as my son! Some where in the night I was told that I was fun old lady, I thought ok!!! But they kept hitting on my friend, there is only 5 years difference between us!!! Could it be they know my son? I just had to laugh!!!! We had a good time, and my brother sounded awesome on his kazoo. They played American Women!! They are just getting started and another band lets them play durning their breaks, good way to get started.

Anyways childish is fun, sometimes!!!

Hurray for you Dawn,

Wish I could lose some weight...my metablism has really slowed down...and I am flabby....I hate it.

Hard to get to the gym consistently. May try to get some type of exercise equipment like a bike or something to do before I leave for school in the morning. That would help.

You must feel great about yourself....that is neat. Pat

When the time is right, one will appear, Dawn. Meanwhile, maybe read your book at Starbucks or Borders. The whirlpool is inaccessible to men. What about the gym? Surely, there are some hot guys there. Eye-candy.

I hear fishing is a good hobby for meeting single men.

The following is a list of places that I no longer go because I tend to get involved in things I shouldn't:

Book Store's (B&N specifically)
Grocery Store's (only do shopping now at 7-11 or very late at night)
Microsoft Symposiums (You wouldn't believe what goes on here)
Laundrymat's (I use dry cleaners now)
Gym (I take walks, ride bike and have weights in apt)
Victoria Secret (off limits completely, no substitute)

Other things I've learned is it's all about eye contact. I will not look a lady in the eye anymore and have found that looking at thier feet is very interesting. And dump the available look, bone up on current events and become well read.

Last of all BE YOURSELF. If your outgoing... by all means BE OUTGOING! Fakery is apparent.
