Just curious - do men actually like it when a woman has long, painted fingernails? Is this sexy to a guy? So many of my friends get their nails done every week, and I always wonder if it is really something a guy likes to see - or is it just something us women do.

I sure do find it attractive! Its a visual declaration of a woman's femininity.

Okay, I'll bite. A little long is fine, not outrageous, not so much that it limits what you can do because you have to save your nails. Painted is fine too, not real crazy about black. Long nails gently scratching my back is a good thing. Long nails on the attack are scary.

Personally I like well manicured medium to short nails with a clear coat. Or even someone with a nice "French" manicure. Something about long done up nails makes me think "HIGH Maintenance.

HOWEVER, in open toed shoes "red" toe nails are a must.....

This is all very interesting - thanks guys.

As for you Harry - you may think that
Long Nail = Pain and Harry doesn't like pain, but you better get your butt over to your own thread and see the 2x4 I just smacked you with.

I don't find it sexy. I find short well-manicured nails to be the most attractive. Same for toes as for fingers.

The kind of woman I find most attractive is neat and clean and fit, with a simple hairstyle, well-fitting but practical clothing, and a minimum of jewelry and makeup.

I guess where I am coming from is that I have been so busy taking care of two boys, who play a lot of sports, and doing all the "mans work" around the house, that I have lost sight of some of those nice little girlie things that I used to do when I was younger.
I have learned all sorts of home repairs that I never thought I would know - I have my own power tools, and I do all my own yard work. And I love the fact that I can do all that stuff - but I am also a woman, and don't want to lose sight of that. I will never be a "little Princess" and don't want to be treated like one. But somewhere between Princess and Handyman would be good.
Just so long as it doesn't interfere with my favorite Saturday afternoon acivity - watching baseball and drinking beer.
Oh no, I think I may be closer to handyman than I am Princess.......

The fact that it wasn't is what brought many of us here. Apparently my WW couldn't say "no". I believe it was more like a smile and "Do you wanna?" and her legs spread.

DJ-
Perhaps your WW knows my EX H??
This is his latest - couple of weeks ago he
declares that he realzies what an idiot he has been, he wants to do anything he can to get his wife and family back, he never should have left, blah blah blah...
I tell him we can occasionally date for awhile, and I will think about what he has said. Meanwhile, I check his profile on Match.com, and each time I look I can see that he has been "active within 24 hours".
Oddly enough, his profile says nothing about his desire to reconcile with his ex wife.
I am thinking about adding your line to my profile - Why would I even want him back.
Yikes.
Going to make an appointment to have my nails done.

I can make some polish recommendations. After all, I am the Fair And Beauteous Princess Cinderella of Caerlon.

I usually buy OPI polish. Get in salons. About $7.50/ bottle but it holds up pretty well.

I used to work in a 3-woman/3 men office. At a church. And sometimes you could find all 3 women sporting nails done in "I'm Not Really A Waitress".

I recently saw the Diplomat, more commonly known as a long-distance bf. We were in line at a fast food restaurant when he commented about the color of the toe nails of the woman in front of us. Now, the Diplomat, is not a particularly visual person. So, if he comments on something he saw, I listen.

The other day, I bought a wonderful new OPI color, "Kissed by Amethyst". All the women in my office noticed the change from the "Merryberry Mauve" I've been wearing. One man even noticed my toenails.

I may not always keep my nails polished but my toenails are almost always polished. And usually it is "I'm Not Really A Waitress."

My fingernails do not grow very well. They just aren't particularly strong. And I am not high-maintenance enough to want to do manicures all the time. After all, I don't have the money for that. So, doing my own will have to suffice for now.

Womanoffaith5-
You would date him? I don't think I could do that. My oldest asked me if I would take his mother back if she wanted me to. I told him I would have to think about it, and consider what would be best for him and his brother. He said he wouldn't blame me if I didn't after everything she has done to me. He's nine. That is one of my biggest fantasies though- that she realize what she has done and comes to me ask to try again. My reply: Helllllllll no. And if you aren't going to work at putting things back together, whats the point in dating? I am looking forward to dating. Someone else. New relationship, new person.

Good luck with the nails. Seems like a lot of trouble though. If you don't keep them painted they look like crap, might be better just to leave them natural.

Wow..Cindy and I have alot in common.

As for me, I have med. length nails and i get manicures 2xmonth. French always on nails. On toes, now am sporting french on toes...a la South Beach...but I flip always back to

NO I'm not really a Waitress by OPI.

Looooove OPI.

And to bring attention to my singleness and my well manicured and somewhat sexy feet, I now sport a toe ring on my R second toe...sign for "hey I am single...but I can say no ok?" Too bad my boy now seems he has trouble in that area...Guess the toe ring is STAYING IN THE RIGHT SIDE.

Cindy and I are on same page..

However...i have med. length nails w/french manicure...can't change polish alot b/c I wash my hands so much at the clinic. But toes are a different story. As of today, have french manicure on toes but alternate between french and...

NO I'M NOT REALLY A WAITRESS. Opi rocks.

And I am also sporting a toe ring...A sterling and cz mini version of an eternity band (very simple and classic) on my R second toe to show off my SINGLENESS and my manicured toes...Always wear sandals showing them or heels showing them.

With the dating life as such now, methinks I will be keeping the toe ring on the R second toe for some time...
