I thought there was some sense in the saying "opposites attract". I'm dark and she's blonde. My brother has also married a blonde and most of our girlfriends were blondes. Our kids have brown eyes, one fair and one dark. She sometimes says next time round (marriage) she wants a blonde blue eyed man. And if it ever happened I would be seriously attracted by a [censored].
What do you make of this?

I think that was originally said in reference to character, not looks. And opposites do attract BUT do they stay together in the long run? While I'm sure some do, most people actually crave a partner who is more a kindred spirit than not. For example...I used to say to my x "Let's plan a trip to Disneyworld with the kids for next year." His answer: "I don't know if I'll be alive next year." Me to x: "I need you to tell me that you love me." X: "I'm married to you, why should I have to say it?" These are just a few examples-we were like night and day and we are no longer married.
Me to now husband "Let's plan a trip..." H: "Okay! I love Disneyworld." H tells me he loves me every single day and helps me in so many ways I can't count them all.
I believe it takes people of similar mind-sets to be able to recognize and meet each others needs.

quote:
And if it ever happened I would be seriously attracted by a [censored].

Btw, this sounds terribly politically incorrect. But I think I know what you meant.
And if you are basing your attraction/relationship on looks, you are really being very immature and bound for disaster, imo.
