I think it is really sad that my kids feel they have to walk on eggshells around their father and around the OW, because if they displease them they risk never visiting their father again. .

This is how I grew up dealing with my sister, never knew when she would get into one of her moods, I'm curious to know if they really want to see their father, I grw up without a father due to the fact that he died, but to know that your own father is treating his own kids has have to be devastating..... with my own sister treating me this way I grew up with thinking that no one would like me because if my own sister treated me like this, making me think that I'm unlikable, why would anyone else like me.

Have you talked to them and let them know that is not them with the problem but their dad?

I am sorry you had to grow up that way. Did your sister suffer from depression?

Yes, at least half of the kids do want to see their father. The oldest two haven't seen him in years. For awhile, the younger ones asked him repeatedly to see them more often, but eventually they gave up. They do know that it is their father's problem, not theirs, and that spending time with their father is not a privilege that they have to earn.

Hi yes my sister sufferes from depression and other diorders, hate to say but she is still this way today, I am civil to her, but that is only because they way I was taught grwoing up, and because she my sister.

Sad part is that we knew not to bring our playmates over to the house because she would cause a scene.

I asked because, I hate to see all the kids who parents have left them growing up to be either people pleaser or conflict avoiders the death knell to any relationship. Good luck with your brood..... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
