Hey everyone!!!

Daughter is scheduled to have her baby by c-section on Wednesday which allows for her dad to be here for the event.

I am just asking for guidance, prayers and support as this blessed day is near and we will be sharing in the day instead of my SIL calling his FIL to inform him of the happy news.

It's going to be a tough day in many ways and a very happy one too. I just don't want anything to happen that allows the happiness to be stolen.

Thanks friends for your support that I know will be forth coming!!!!

Dawn,

Nothing can take this happiness from you.

I can't even imagine any of my DD's having a baby yet but I know that nothing could ever replace the 4 days that they were born and nothing could have made those days bad.

That is the time that nothing else matters!

I agree with WIWH, Dawn. Your dear daughter is going to be a mom--you are going to be a gramma--and the most adorable little angel is going to be entering your family. As long as you keep your focus on that lifechanging event, the ex will not even be an effect in your life.

Dawn, I know your exH is one of those toughies (like mine) and at the most inappropriate time he does the most inappropriate thing. If he does choose this time to go nuts, I suggest telling your daughter "I don't want dad's behavior to steal the beauty of this day, so for you and your dear child's sake, I will retire to the chapel for a while for a break. I'll try to come back in an hour so each of us can have some private time with you and with the baby." You know...something like that. If he chooses to act like a [censored], don't let his poor behavior drag you down. It will be obvious who is a Jerry Springer guest and who is Meryl-Streep-classy.

Love!
Support!
Prayers!
Encouragement!

Congratulations on the new baby!!! You must be so excited.

Is this your first grandchild? Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?

And your XH, is he bring the OW/New wife with him? How do you feel about sharing this special family time with a total stranger?

I know lots of questions, I just don't think I could handle something like that but, I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Good luck to you and your daughter.

Congratulations! What a totally exciting time for you! My daughter was married 2 years ago and H moved out while they were on their honeymoon. I keep expecting/hoping for "an announcement" along the same line to come soon, LOL. That is tempered with the thought of NOT sharing it with my H as I always expected we would (we're in final negotiations for D now)...

I'm sure you'll be fine - I like CJ's idea of just excusing yourself for a short period of time when he's there, which may make it easier on your D & SIL too. And I guess keep in mind, without him, you wouldn't be welcoming a grandchild in the first place. You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow.

I'm so glad it went well! It's wonderful that God provided a "buffer" person at the hospital, too. I went to your photo album and it's restricted. So I'll take your word on how cute the baby is, LOL. Congratulations again

Yeah, congratulations, congratulations, congrats on every level for your new joy and daughter's joy.

I read your orginal post, I was speechlessly sad at the thought of your x being present at this most beautiful blessed event.

I wanted to respond sooner as my daughter just announced she is getting married in 3 wks, and thought how do I get through that passage, since my dv was only a few months ago. I am greatly encouraged by you.

You have been so strong and courageous. Not an easy passage to go through for the faint of heart. Wow...

God brought you all through this blessed event with flying colors. Takes a baby to get everyone straightened out.

Millions of hugs to you, grandchild, daughter and son inlaw. Blessings, blessings and wonderful tidings. New Birth- maybe your xh will get the hint finally.

Let the celebration of our God love and his faithful attending angels be with you all!

Blessings and cheers!

Well xH left on Sunday morning!!! The kids will probably not see him again for a year as he is going on a remote assignment to Korea and leaves in Nov. The kids dealt with all of this fairly well. But hey they went through it 5 years ago! That is when x started the EA with former HS GF who is now the new wife.

Someone said "I wonder if this marriage will make it through Korea!!!" Don't know and don't care, not my business, but did have to chuckle a little!!

Everything went very well with x even spent some time with him and the kids Saturday night. He is such a proud grandpa!!! Even took a picture of both the babies granparents together, we even smiled!!! We did talk before I left D house about finacial stuff and insurance things for while he is overseas. As I left I gave him a hug and said that I was sorry that he was going to miss out on so much this first year of Grandson's life, he said I know just keep the pictures coming!! Said I would and left. That was the only time that he looked me in the face. And never did he make a comment about the amount of weight that I have lost.

Oh Well Life goes on!!! And I h ave a new grandson to play with and teach!!!

Daybreak---congratulations and so glad that all family members could rejoice together in peace and harmony. What a treat to be experiencing new life----beginnings----joyfulness----love as opposed to grief---endings---sadness and anger. It is about time these good things have come to you.

May God bless you all through this little fella.

I am here just really really busy!!!

The little guy is doing great I got to keep him for a while on Tuesday night. The kids had been saying how he really scoots around on the blanket or bed and that he rolls himself over, I thought yeah right, probably up on his side or something. But I was helping YD with homework and he was on his tummy and we looked up and he was on his back. We both just dropped our jaws and put him back on his front to see if he'd do it again and he sure did!!!!! I told the kids about when they got here and they said "mom we've been telling you for a week that he's been rolling over" he's 2 weeks old!!!!

This grandma thing is kind of fun!!! They have been real good about letting us take him when we want to. So have had him a few times this week. Really makes me want to go back into home daycare, I know I could do it and that I would be good at it and that I would love it, BUT do I risk my job and the security? I just don't know, must take it to the Lord in some earnest prayer though!!!

Am finishing up the cooking for my daughters confirmation retreat this weekend, I am playing chef so thought I would get as much prep done as I can so I can be out enjoying the hills, the weather and the colors while at camp!!!!

Take care and keep in touch!!!

Oh yeah need some help with the grandma name thing. As when they grandma both my mom and I look up now!!! She's been grandma longer, so she should get to keep it I think but haven't got anything that I've liked thus far any thoughts or suggestions people? Help!!!!
