How do you handle a chronic/acute illness with a spouse that your not sure about? I mean, am I a "bad" person for not wanting to stay? I question whether i'm just staying to not split up our assets. We worked hard to get to the new bigger house with money from my parents. Now, do I just wait it out or leave know and start my new life.

Well, if you're married I have to wonder about the 'in sickness and in health" part? How long have you been married? Have you tried counseling?

we been married almost 24 years - no kids only cats. the marriage was not perfect before we had our problems but this has definely made it worse
i question if not i'm a bad person for not wanting to hang on until the end or just call it quits now
no we have not done couseling

I hope you won't throw away 24 years without considering counseling. Too many of my friends are divorced and no happier than they were married, just more alone. It's not easy to make things work, but I do think it's worth it. Good luck
