HI All,
I guess the subject could be changed but I am not sure what to say. I am wondering if what information should I keep concerning my son (15 months old) and his dad (stbxh). I am not explaining it right. I want to know if I should keep a log of every time I see stbxh. For example, I was at a ball game last week stbxh walk over to me and son. Of course son wanted to go to stbxh.

So am I makeing myself clear. What information should I keep?

I think you are describing a parenting journal and you should write what you think is important.
For example, days X has the child or should have the child and doesn't. Other contacts with X like him asking for extra time. Doctors appointments and whether X goes or not.
Derogatory comments from X regarding you or son.

The journal may be meaningless, but may help in a custody fight if X says he spent more time with son than actually happened.

Also, if you've requested to meet with X to discuss son and any issues you've noticed with son.

it will help you emotionally also. I kept one and of course it was useless in court. I could not be as mean to my x as he was to me.

r & j,

Maybe you're not explaining it right because I interpreted your question as to what you whould keep track of for your child to have as refrence to history with X, that is until I read the other replys.

Are you are looking for a record to justify custody or support or are you looking to have a record of who your childs father is?

I guess I am not explaining myself right because I really don't know what I want not that I see the replies. I guess I am wanting to keep track of what stbx is doing for son. Or if I call stbx because I can't provide for son and I ask stbx for it and he doesn't provide. I guess I want something to show myself that he is not everything I thought he was. I guess more or less to show that I am doing the right thing for son by d wh. I hope this clear things up abit.

It sounds like you want a parenting journal. Just write down your thoughts, problems, requests to X etc.
And also keep a calendar handy to write down days/times X has child, or when you've asked and he refuses.
