The X and OW are taking our daughter to Paris in a couple weeks. Not happy about that, but have agreed to let her go. (They've been planning the trip for months--was going to be just them).
So, daughter and I were just driving in the car and somehow Disney came up. I'm a huge Disney fan, and I said, sort of jokingly, "If you go to Paris, you can go to EuroDisney".
She says, "We are."
"Really?"
"Yep, they're doing it as a jab at you, but don't tell 'em I told you that."
Okay, my vent: Predatory OW got the man she was after! They are getting just shy of 50% of my freakin' retirement account which is sizeable (considering he has NONE of his own)! They are taking our daughter out of school and risking her not earning any credits this quarter because they feel it's the right thing to do and threatened legal action if I didn't let them.
Now they feel they must jab me again by taking my daughter to the one Disney place I'll never go to?
How childish and immature do they have to be??!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> ------------------------------------------------
Okay, I think X is angry because I took both kids on a vacation last summer to DisneyWorld and he didn't get to go.
Lets see....hmmmm.... Why was that?
Could it be because he had moved out of the house and was drinking and still hanging with pesky OW? Could it be that he also has told me time and time again how much he HATES Disney??
He was jealous because I got a vacation and he didn't. "Not fair" he cries. So he spends all his money (to the point that the last two child support checks I got from him have bounced and I'm awaiting replacements) so that he and sweety-pie can go to Paris 'cause he's going to "show me!" And he's going to take our daughter to EuroDisney to "show me even more!"
(I picture a little red-headed bratty kid stomping his feet and shaking his fist saying, "I'll show you!")
I'm not angry that they're going to Paris anymore. I'm only slightly jealous that they're going to EuroDisney. I'm more upset because I'm trying to be so darned nice and cooperative and they have to respond by being childish!

Just think of how much more you will appreciate it than them when you do get to go. And you'll be going for YOU! Not as a jab at someone else.

Point noted. Okay, so when I start dating again (in 49 years and 361 days now!), and I find me a nice, faithful, boring-in-the-eyes-of-the-world Christian guy, maybe we can go.
OW will actually probably appreciate it. I doubt she's ever been to Disney-anything. Can't imagine X liking it any better than any other Disney place he's been, and he's tired of them. Frankly, I think my daughter is, too. So for them--probably a big waste of money and a day in Paris.

LL Yep, they are being childish! But the cool thing is that the real child, your DD, knows it...and she knows you're being an adult about it all.
And please - never say never! You're a young beautiful woman. Travel to wherever you want to go. Don't wait for a man. Grab a friend, take your daughter or go with a group. I hear flights to Paris are super cheap right now.
Enjoy your independence <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Think of it this way, he spent all of his money to do this Paris trip with the ow, so how much more is he going to blow to try to inpress her, himself? Or get back at you, in a way that will only hurt him in the wallet.
I know it's not the MB way but you should throw some hints to your daughter on some of the trips you might be taking next yr and see how tweedle 1 and 2 react!!
And if this is the only dig he can think of to get back at you for divorcing his fogged a**, then just sit back (as they say in the Divorcebusting site) on the curb with a mug of coffee or a cool beverage and some snacks and enjoy the play they both put on.
