Really dont know why Im here.. guess a place to vent.

Been a family man ever since I can remember and got divorced about two years ago. Instead of doing a cooling of fperiod... started the dating game thing by he internet.. which was totally wrong looking back.

To make a long story short.. thought I met the girl of my dreams...and its turn out to be quite a roller coaster. From horrible credit, attitudes once we got married to now controlling our sex life... life somedays is pretty misearable. The hardest part I thought would be bonding to the kids (she has 5, I, 3), but actually that has been SOMEWHAT easy... Shes on medicine for depression... but she basically like a washing machine each month. Goes for almost a week twice a month where its going through the motions. I have given her flowers and kept them fresh from day one... tried romantic get aways... writing poems, but normal life to her is planting at 6 to 11 each night being a couch potatoe and falling asleep on the couch. Fustrated so much sometimes.. and then boom.. the girl I met comes back for about a week and I fall all over in love with her again... I so do love this lady.. but these desert areas each month are horrible...

Thanks.. feel better...

This is not normal. Doesn't sound like normal depression to me. How much does she really tell the doctor about what is going on? Have you ever talked to her doctor? And who is prescribing her antidepressants? A psychiatrist or internist? What is she taking and for how long? Have you read up on it?

Whirlwind

I think I can help here. Let me explain my experience and you can proceed from there.

My XW had the very same symptoms for several years of our M and believe me; it is miserable for her as well. Fortunately; our doctor is also a good friend and the 3 of us worked together on it. Basically; XW has a chemical imbalance (genetic reasons) that affects her moods, physical stamina, emotions, etc. It was not pleasant at times. Bottom line; after a somewhat lengthy period of trying different anti-depressants, dosages, blends, etc. they hit on a dosage/prescription that was excellent. XW became like a new person; enjoying life, making good decisions, etc.

There is a catch though! Stressful life situations can alter the dosage needs and this is where your relationship strength must be good. She must trust you enough to advise when you notice a change in her emotions/moods etc. and go back to Doc, explain about the stress and accept the new dosage/med. (For years, mine trusted and we worked great together. Then OM entered her life, told her that she didn't need those "drugs" and her life went to &%^@.)

Bottom line; both of you should go to your Doc, be brutally frank about the symptoms and ask for his help. Prescribing anti-d's on this level means much trial & error due to possible weight gain, loss of libido, etc. so continue being patient & loving with her. But once the right combination is found; life gets wonderful. I hope this helps. Good luck.
