Does your state require separation before divorce, a good idea? Just wondering, in my state you don't have to separate say 6 months, but I'm reading about others who are required by law to wait. What is the reason for the laws and is there a purpose to waiting it out even if your state doesn't mandate. Someone told me I'd feel better about myself if I waited six months to file, it's actually true too. If I did it in a crisis I'd always look back thinking that was the reason. I like to think things through and not act in haste. I'd also like to go to my own counseling too, with a counselor we both saw several years ago to put this in persepective. I'm just not ready if the state says I can or not. Some here have said if that's the case then wait. Guess I have to file legal separation for the baby though.
