I awoke on August 8th to find a letter my wife had left me telling me how blessed she was that I was her husband and how happy I make her. We write letter back and forth frequently, but she usually writes if I write her. So I was surprised whe I found she had written me. I start wondering why then I realized August 8th was the day she got married the first time at 18. This was a terrible marriage and did a lot of damage to her emotionally. So I figured she awoke realized the date and thought of what a mistake she made and how good I had been to her and she wrote the letter. We have went through a lot of termoil the past year over her past and I did not want her going there again. I thought about her all day and hoped she wasn't thinking about her mistake all day. I wanted to make it a happy day for her. I thought about getting her flowers, but I thought would that be right considering it was her anniversary of her first marriage? I finally decided to go ahead so I bought her flowers and a card. In the card I told her how much she meant to me and how only our past meant anything and that I was making August 8th our day to be happy and love each other. She was overwhelmed and cried, but I still wonder if I did the wright thing. Did I make her feel like she was celebrating her anniversary? What do you think?

You certainly did do the right thing - sounds like you and your Wife are on the right track - communication, little things like 'love letters' etc, flowers - KEEP IT UP! Keep those Love Bank depo$its coming in! My wife and I have those days where it's an old anniversary of a first marriage, ex's birthday, etc. - our attitude is: "Whatever, that was then - this is NOW." Why even bring up the past - it's DEAD and let it lay there - water under the bridge so to speak. Your future and everything is with the woman you love NOW. May God bless you both, Peace, Harold If more couples did what you two are doing now, there sure would be a lot fewer posts on MB regarding infidelity, etc. You definitely ARE on the right track!!
