I have been single again for quite a few years. And I was thrust into this life without the tools I needed. As I have muddled through, I have done the best I can to aquire the tools I need.
Yesterday, another tool was added to my collection. It's a tool many single women need but few of us have.
A stud finder!

Wow! Does it really work?!?!?!
Of course, I'm guessing it only finds them. I would imagine you still have to do a lot of dirty work on your own to find out if it's a good stud or a bad stud..... hmmm, now that gave me an idea! After you find the studs with your stud finder, you just have to hire an inspector to tell you if they are worth keeping or need replaced, right?
Oh, if only it were that easy....

I'm still unhappy that I lost custody of the drill press.
But I do own a corded electric drill AND a cordless one. Lots of drill bits, hammers (don't know how I got so many of them because I haven't bought any) and a ratchet driver set.
BTW, since we are discussing the stud finder, the latest issue of Consumer Reports has an article where they rate condoms.

I have many, many drills, but I know why. My X was such a narcissist that everytime someone else touched "HIS" things, he would go out and buy a new one that no one else could touch. Then with the drug problem, he sometimes forgot where he hid things.
And I have the lawn tractor!!!!! We had quite an experience trying to put the plow on 2 weeks ago. Of course my son put it off til the middle of the blizzard and he forgot how. Darn we sure were not calling X for help, but between the 3 of us we figured it out
Sorry..no extra drill press. If I had an extra I'd give it to you

All this talk of getting drilled and studs....
...why I do declare!
Is it getting hot in here, or is this just another perimenopausal hotflash??

I've never been able to get a studfinder to work well. My friend's BIL bought her one as soon as her D was final. If only they worked so well.
I miss the dog I left behind, no tools. I'm glad I brought the shopvac and wagon though - they come in handy. I personally love it when my DD's say "Oh daddy could do that for you!" Yeah right. He wouldnt' do things when we were married. It's good that children are sometimes naive.

it is real easy to operate.
put in the keys, turn the ignition...
pull my 67 'vette out of the garage.
works everytime but unfortunately it generally doesn't attract the type of women I like. All they see is a pristine example of a vette and that means money....what they don't know is that I rebuilt it from the ground up myself and don't have money. I only paid $800 for it 20 years ago it was in such deplorable shape (no front clip, no motor, no interior) and spent the next 13 years rebuilding it...it's my one toy.
My single brother loves to borrow it in the summer once or twice...gee, can't imagine why. His moral compass spins a little different from mine.

I miss my 67 Mustang which I drove in high school. It wasn't quite vintage then, but getting close.

Tonight I used my cordless drill and the drill bits and the screwdriver bits. But there seems to be a problem with the desk I was assembling. Surely, the problem wouldn't be me!

Nope, the problem wasn't me. The problem was the drawing was tiny and I put a piece on backwards. Called the manufacturer and the customer help person was wonderful. Got it turned around. Desk works beautifully now. Tomorrow we will get it in the bedroom. Tonight it's sitting in the kitchen. Son is through with his temper tantrum over the desk. We've got to do some work in his room. Maybe he could help me fix my closet. OOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!! that sounds dangerous. Could be fun. But my daughter would be more effective. Hmmm, to have son or daughter help. Either way, it could be a fight to the bloody end.

Princess, I am glad you DID get it done right and calling the manufacturer helps a lot. SDLOM
