In the section of the website that Dr. Harley discusses painful intercourse, I think you need to add another item. I had problems for years and was told it was all in my head until I found a very thorough doctor who said I had an extensive but subclinical yeast problem. I had no typical symptoms of a yeast infection, he said "it happens". It took quite awhile to find medication that worked for me with undue side effects, but it makes an amazing difference. Unfortunately, I will be faced with this problem the rest of my life, it is something people with poor immune systems sometimes face. What most people don't realize is how much intercourse and semen cause painful burning. It is a natural chemical reaction due to what yeast does to your vaginal lining, making it thinner and more sensitive and the pH difference of semen. I thought my husband would be thrilled when the solution was found, he wasn't. He was disgusted. It is not venereal disease we all have yeast, some of us just seem to have the conditions to make it grow too much ... There is alot I can do to keep it under control, but it can surprise me, thus impacting our sex life because I can't always tell it is out of control by physical symptoms. So I need to know he will stop if it hurts, he feels that is too much to ask ... a separate issue. The doctor even met with him to explain the issue.

I Rosilinda,

I glad you discovered the source of your pain.

Have you asked H directly if he would stop if it hurt? Sex is supposed to be pleasurable, not painful. To me, this is a respect issue. He should respect you enough to not want you to be in pain. Besides, who wants to have sex if it hurts. I know I don't.
