OK here's to all the lonely hearts out there that doesn't have the "special" someone to cuddle with on Valentine's Day! Never thought I'd feel this way. But I do!

Last night, my xbf and I talked about how he has to work 5-12 pm in er on valentine's day. I have to work during day. So it's a no go.
We talked about who in the heck St. Valentine was? He was a saint. Xbf said he got decapitated. That's not very romantic.
We also think it's a card company conspiracy. That if enough companies, jewlery companies band together to put pressure on the public, you will after the massive commercials and ads that pangs of guilt are really what drive the majority of the valentine's day stuff anyhow.
But I celebrate it for the love in my life. My child. Above all my child. He told me I was his valentine. He made me several cards. He's visiting his dad this weekend, but since his school is on the way to my new job, I am dropping off early my son's valentine present so it's there for him at school. Also dropping off his teacher's present. I like doing the "secret cupid" stunt that day.
Find the most basic reason for this holiday. Love. And find and seek those who you feel love for. Do something special for them. Remember, love is giving and is kind. turn off the darn tv, don't listen to the commercials. Just do what is in your heart that day.

Just Peachy,
BTW, I tried using "Just Peachy" as my screen name for MB LOL. But obviously you have it first. That is my motto in life. I also love Peaches!
But if I follow my heart, I'd get into big trouble.
But I do plan on spending my Valentine's with my two sons. They are the love of my life!

I changed my attitude about Valentines Day.
Now I celebrate for my kids. I get THEM a valentine and a little something special and make a big deal over it. Tomorrow I'm making a whole batch (200+ cookies to decorate and take into work).
If you let this holiday be nasty, it will be nasty, BUT if you face it with happiness, it will be happy.
Happy Valentines Day to one and all!

Elan,
Yummy Cookies! Great Idea! After mopping the kitchen floor tomorrow, I think I will pull out the heart shaped cookie cutter and start baking. Almost like x-mas cookies but better in Pink and Red. Move over Martha!
But I am feeling lonely though, Peach is right, it is nothing but a jewelers, and card makers Holiday. Oh and we cannot forget good old Fanny May. Yummy. I have to workout just thinking about the delicious meltaways. YUM

You think you got it bad? I was one of those silly, sappy kids who got married on Valentine's day. It didn't matter that it was on a Tuesday night that year. I wanted a Valentine's day wedding.
So, now I have a Valentine's Day un-iversary.
Can't slip by me without me noticing. YUCK!!!!

aka What Am I Doing? New name!
I'll be at our first D court conference that day.
I just got his "answer" to the D "summons", and he denies he lived in our state, denies he has property with me, denies the date of separation and of course denies the adultery.
Methinks he is insane! I cannot believe he's been my Valentine for 20 years. Yeesh!

For kicks, I might be surfing match.com. It is great for entertainment. Nothing is happening on eharmony right now..... God must not feel it's the right time for me, so I will concentrate on my kids. Sigh....

Me too!
I have been on the match sites. Unfortunately, I didn't pay so I have to wait until the good ones respond.

My Wife and I do NOT celebrate Valentines Day. Far as we are concerned, it BLOWS - coz that was my original anniversary back in 1981 - hell no we're not celebrating that! We celebrate our love every other day of the year, but most especially on OUR Anniversary, not some day that the Powers That Be have decided we should celebrate it on... SDLOM

Since WH is still very much wayward - We won't be celibrating VD - first time in 13 years that I didn't buy him a card/gift. So many holidays have been ruined by his multiple A's..
I plan on spending the evening w/my horse..grooming him, treats, and a little ride time..Wish I could cut his apples into tiny hearts..
I'll buy some nice heart shaped cookies for my barn buddies
Then I'll shed a few tears out of sheer loneliness and longing for the man/marriage I always wanted BUT never had....
I thought about going out for dinner/drinks - but do I really want to be viewed as a DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE on VD...NO WAY......

Hey IT HURTS,
I used to feed my horses some home made "yummies" Which was:
Cheerio's Molasses Bran chuncks of apples like a nickle size and some raw oats.
Mix it all together and put it into their feed bin.
One of my horses would smell that mixture a mile away. He would start snorting and spin in his stall. No joke! I miss him!
They also loved a sweet potato and rutabaga mix!
No my horses weren't tubby either. Although it seems my mare started the expression, "to eat like a horse." She was a piggy! But she could jump the moon if she wanted too!
I need to talk with you!!!!
Ali~
BTW, My horse would know when I was blue. I would sit on his feed box and he would come to me and nozzle me with his nose. Then he'd be extra nice and forgiving during lessons. I miss him!!
My last horse? She was a Trakehner! That says it all! [ February 13, 2005, 07:25 PM: Message edited by: Ali88 ]

Today is... just another day. Perhaps next year I'll celebrate it and after all, my Divorce was like almost 7 years ago - I guess you could say my original anniversary is NOW classified 'ancient history' heheheeee. Ali88, I like the idea of giving ya horses extra treats today. Y'know, I believe I'll just give our four INDOOR doggies a few extra 'cookies' (no not the computer ones hehehee) myself. They instantly recognize the word 'cookies' as.. (like that dog on the beggin' strips tv commercial) "Lord! Yes! They are going to give me something really yummy and tasty to eat. I can't wait... drools here... where is it? Now? Please!!!" hehehehhee Dogs. Can't live without them - Man's (and Woman's best friend) - at least in the case here with my wife and me... Sauron Galadriel Brittany Sweetie-Girl Trust Cooper ------ jes one big happy fambily! heheheeeee
