Does anyone else's divorce decree state that W-2's be exchanged?
Our's does, and it states by Feb. 15th.
However, x has not provided his to me. I gave him mine 2 or 3 weeks ago, as a HINT for him to remember.
He has done several things out of character, which leads me to believe he may have gotten a raise, and I'm thinking he doesn't want me to know.
Any suggestions for me as to how to go about asking for it??
Here's another one. I lost my engagement ring during the separation. I had a feeling it was in my vehicle, but I searched it and never found it. He tells me tonight, that he found it. (he now has the vehicle). It was in the seat belt latch thing. So, I held out my hand to take it. He said, OH, I don't have it with me. My oldest D told him, I will get it from you Thurs when I see you, he said, I will give it to you over the weekend.
I'm placing a bet with myself. He is to be getting married in the spring. I'm thinking, he is getting the ring appraised, so he can trade it in for a different one for his honey.
So, is this considered a "finders keepers" kind of game??
My plan was to give my rings to my girls. I certainly don't need them, but I'm sure they would mean something to them.
Share your thoughts if you have any.
Thanks, K.

Paper trail.
Send him a letter asking for the W2 outright "per the divorce decree." Point out that he has yours, you need his.
Memorialize the engagement ring lost-and-found, including what he said, and what your daughter said, to "remind" him. If you need help writing your letter, post a draft here. You wouldn't believe how helpful those things are in court.
He's on to his new life. You're not obligated to subsidize it by remaining ignorant of his income, or by allowing him to convert the engagement ring that is YOURS so as to buy a Liz Taylor type diamond ring for his new wife.

Thanks for your reply Belle.
I guess I have to stoop to the level of asking for the W-2 since he is not handing it over.
I feel like he intentionally makes me out to look like the ugly xw.
He has not followed the decree at all. He has adjusted the visitation schedule to meet his needs. This is only one more example of him trying to push me around.
As far as the ring. I don't have to worry about him buying her too big of one. He is NOT a spender. And, we must remember, she does NOT expect anything. That was one her many atributes as I remember him telling me. Not to mention all of her other perfect qualities. I do wonder if she has faultered on any of them yet???
Thanks again for your input!

Hi Karona-
We are supposed to as well but never have. My XH is starting to earn less. I'm sure he will push it when he thinks he has to pay less, but until then who knows? I agree to request it in writing though. It is his legal obligation.
As for the ring, he better return it. If he doesn't and does what you are suggesting, he is more of a slime than I imagined.
Hang in there!
Take care and God bless! K

You're not stooping to anything. A clear and succinct note is a record of his failure. It's not about you!
He has not followed the decree at all. He has adjusted the visitation schedule to meet his needs. This is only one more example of him trying to push me around.
Paragraph 2. of the clear, concise note: quote the visitation schedule and set out what he is allowed. Tell him to stick to it.
As far as the ring.
"My precious!" - You deserve it back. Include that in your note. Do you have a dollar amount, an appraisal, for it, from when it was insured under your Homeowners Policy? Mention that in your note. Paper trail - for the Small Claims Court or Superior Court, depending on the value. And if the value is just sentimental, you DO want to give it to your girls.

Thanks for your replies.
I didn't mention in my original post that after searching for the ring and realizing it was gone, I did turn it in under our homeowners policy.
So, I'm thinking in his mind, he knows I got the money for it, he should get the ring. As I said, I really don't have an attacment to the ring, but I would have like to have given it to my daughters.
I won't fight him for this. It will show his true colors once again if he does what I'm thinking he is doing.
As for the W-2, I do want to see that. Something in his latest actions are not adding up. He has offered to help out with several things lately and that is not him. I don't plan on taking him back to court for more money, but if he did get a substantial raise, I would like to ask for my oldest daughter back for tax exemption. That would help me out a lot.
Thank you again for your help. I will put things in writing. I have been advised this many times. I need to do better at it.
