I have been married for 27 years and my spouse's family has always been unfair with gifts to our children and to us. They have never helped us in anyway but have always helped the other children in the family with things such as wallpapering painting and stuff like that. They are critical to the children and to myself. My spouse will not talk to them. My spouse said that He/she will never say anything to them. It has created much conlict in our marriage. Please advice

Actually, in my case I wouldn't care if in laws gave any gifts as long as they were somewhat kind emotionally.

If it is his family and he doesn't want to talk to them, then exactly what is causing the conflict?

Who said it was a he problem. I said he/she.
The problem is that they say unkind things to myself and our children,If that is considered loving them then I don't want to know what not loving would be

My husband had to make another call to my his mother to let her know that her gossip is hurtful.

We barely spoke to her for 2 years and we started to again recently because I felt it would be "safe" now and she would be glad to be seeing her son again. If we would not have broke ties with her for awhile, we definately would be divorced now as she was so mean to me and acted so unscrupulously.
But, it's starting again, and if she doesn't back off with her games, she won't have us in her life again-unless I throw my husband out and he moves in with her.
Marriage comes first.

Get those apron strings cut! Stand up for yourself if your husband won't. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Otherwise, Plan B them.
